Good location, right on the Tyne and by the Millennium Bridge, and very good price for the location. Staff were cheerful and helpful. My only comment would be there is not sufficient parking, and the best local car park is a bit of a walk, but that aside, I would stay there again happily

A very nice hotel with facilities and right on the bank of the Tyne river. It was a very hot period and aircon excellent. However sitting outside overlooking the river at very run and rotten tables. My beer almost fell over as the hole was so big. Grass stumps were growing under the table. A little TLC was needed to make it nice to look over to a fabulous city. We loved our 3 night stay

I have stayed at Leonardo in Munich and was hoping for a similar experience. The Gateshead unit was a little more like a budget hotel. Positives Staff were very friendly and helpful - reception, bar and breakfast. Good buffet breakfast Room AC worked well and was a great relief on a really hot day! Good views of the river, scenic Drawbacks Room was a bit tired, rip in curtain, Bathroom was clean but very basic with a wonky toilet seat.

Receptionist on arrival was very helpful and friendly. Nar was reasonably priced for drinks, which considering the location was surprising. This was our 3rd stay, and will be back again for a 4th.

Hotel is in a good location, and only about a 10 - 15 minute walk to the centre of Newcastle. Hotel had parking as well which was good. Hotel itself was clean and tidy. The beds were really comfortable and the shower very nice, but the rooms were a little tired and could do with a refresh. Still comfortable though. Staff were friendly and polite.

Comfortable stay, very comfortable beds, good tea and coffee selection, nice big TV, bathroom okay suitable for our needs, staff lovely, overall a pretty good stay. Managed to get parked okay but I can imagine that it would be difficult during peak times as only small in comparison to amount of rooms.

Parking is 8.50 a day but you don't find that out until you check in. The furniture in the restaurant is stained and shabby. The paint in our unsuited had peeled.

At check-in, Neil on reception was rude and dismissive. He even threw our key card across the desk rather than handing it to us, which was not a welcoming start to our stay. The room was generally clean, although there was hair on the bathroom wall, which was disappointing. Both the bedroom and hallway had a lingering smell of old cigarette smoke, which I assume dates back to when smoking was permitted in the hotel. The breakfast was good value for the price we paid, and all of the other staff members were friendly, helpful, and accommodating throughout our stay. Unfortunately, the hotel itself feels tired and in need of significant refurbishment. The photos online appear to be outdated and do not accurately reflect the current condition of the property. In my opinion, this is closer to a 3-star hotel than its advertised rating. While I appreciated the service from the majority of the staff, I would not choose to stay here again. I will also be submitting a formal complaint regarding my experience with Neil on
