Radisson Hotel York

Great view of York minster.

Just come back from a short break in York, have to say what a Fabulous hotel, great staff, breakfast spot on and the location is first class.

Room spotless, staff superb on check in.

Very noisy aircon units outside our window

Nice clean room and bathroom. Hotel very central - within walking distance of everything we wanted to see.

All the staff were lovely.There is one lady on check in who stands out she is lovely so down to earth and ready to help with anything.The hotel is spotless and well equiped.It is very centrally located within walking distance to most attracrions.

Rooms were nice and clean. We booked a superior room and it was a lot smaller than it looked on the photos. Not sure how small the standard rooms are but they must be tight.

I was offered 2 rooms. The 1st was dirty with dust, human hair and generally not cleaned. The 2nd was generally cleaner in the room but the bathroom looked like it had human excrement in the wet room. Disgusting.

Great location, spotless clean, great staff and quiet bar with good food.

Jen on the front desk was so welcoming and helpful. Lovely room and stay. Only thing that let it down was breakfast. Not much choice hot food and it was cold.

The room was fine, great air conditioning and comfy with an excellent shower. No parking available when we arrived was a pain but we toured York looking for car parks. Breakfast was limited, the cooked breakfast was congealed fried eggs, bacon, sausage and baked beans. No hash browns, mushrooms or tomatoes. The fruit was also limited with no bananas. Most of the staff were very friendly but our arrival was greeted in a perfunctory way. The slug that left its trail across part of the breakfast area carpet was amusing. Finally and on a positive note the location is superb.

Friendliness of staff on rewards desk at check in was first rate.Knowledgeable about local area and transport really appreciated. Room lovely and clean and bed comfy!

Room was very dark. We had to wrestle with the in-room heating controls all weekend. Breakfast was of variable quality across the 3 days we stayed.

Great location, easy check in and room was clean and well presented.

The room at first glance looked to be clean, well kept and of reasonable enough standard. However as the stay went on, we noticed some smaller issues, but also some really worrying issues. Smaller issues would be the TV would turn itself off randomly during the stay, a little irritating, however not a disaster. Also, the body was containers in the bathroom were also empty, so clearly not checked by housekeeping staff. Other cleanliness issues such as stains around the toilet were somewhat concerning! The major issue came on Tuesday morning when we went to make a coffee. My partner picked up the kettle to put water in but noticed that there was already liquid in the kettle. To her disgust, when she opened it there was a yellow looking liquid in the bottom which i can only say resembled urine. We did not smell it, or pour it out we simply closed the lid and informed reception who said they have never seen it before (not sorry) and said the kettle would need to be completely replaced. When we returned to the room the kettle no longer had yellow liquid in it, but clear liquid suggesting this "new" kettle was clean. However, on closer inspection I noticed this was infact the same kettle. Everything was identical tothe previous kettle, even down to the limescale in the grooves of the product. The kettle was clearly the same one!! Despite any positives we did have, these issues somewhat ruined the short break i had arranged for my partners birthday as a surprise.

Room was very comfortable but the bathroom had a terrible smell of sewage throughout our stay. Probably a plumbing issue but surprised none of the staff picked up on it.
