The villa is nice, I didn't expect the villa I booked to be big, comfortable, clean, big swimming pool. I took the Two Bedroom Private Villa for 2 families, everything was ok, the main room was ok, the 2nd room was also ok. The reservation staff, Mrs. Dwi, was very helpful until we checked out at night, she replied to our WA, thank you, Mrs. Dwi, when checking in, it was handled by a male staff (sorry forgot his name) who was very friendly, the information was clear, we were immediately escorted to the room, a welcome drink was immediately prepared, great service, at night the gas in the room ran out, we immediately contacted the Night shift guard, Mr. "The person is very friendly, he looked for gas until everything was done, thank you, sir. All the staff are very friendly, we are very satisfied staying here, the villa is recommended, always successful 🙏🏻

Simply the best! Located on a remote area in Ubud so it is very quiet. Spacious and clean bedroom. The temperature is cool enough so you don't need AC. There is an electric mosquito repellent for the room if you need one. The swimming pool is quite big, overlooking the rice terrace. Warm welcome by the staff and manager too. Thank you.

More about hotels in Ubud

Discover the Best Hotels in Ubud for an Unforgettable Bali Retreat

Ubud is the cultural and spiritual heart of Bali, a destination that has captivated Singaporean travellers for decades with its lush rice terraces, ancient temples, and thriving arts scene. Nestled in the highlands of Gianyar regency, Ubud offers a dramatically different experience from Bali's coastal resort areas. Here, the air is cooler, the pace is slower, and the connection to Balinese tradition runs deep. Traveloka provides Singaporean visitors with an extensive selection of Ubud hotels, from luxurious cliff-edge resorts overlooking river valleys to charming homestays surrounded by emerald paddy fields.

Getting to Ubud from Singapore is seamless. After a short flight to Ngurah Rai International Airport, the drive to Ubud takes approximately 90 minutes through scenic Balinese countryside. Many hotels offer private transfer services, or you can arrange a comfortable ride through Traveloka. The journey itself is part of the experience, with roadside temples, artisan villages, and glimpses of rural life unfolding along the way.

Why Ubud Is the Perfect Escape for Singaporean Travellers

For Singaporeans accustomed to the fast-paced rhythm of city life, Ubud offers a transformative change of scenery. The town has earned a global reputation as a wellness and mindfulness destination, with yoga studios, meditation centres, and holistic healing practitioners found on nearly every corner. The famous Yoga Barn, for example, offers daily classes in various disciplines, from Vinyasa flow to Yin yoga, at prices that are a fraction of what you would pay at studios in Singapore.

Beyond wellness, Ubud is a living gallery of Balinese art and culture. The Ubud Palace, or Puri Saren Agung, sits at the heart of town and serves as both a historical landmark and a venue for traditional Balinese dance performances held every evening. Watching a Legong or Barong dance under the starlit sky within the palace courtyard is an experience that stays with visitors long after they return home.

The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary is another must-visit attraction, home to over 700 long-tailed macaques living among ancient banyan trees and moss-covered temple ruins. This 12.5-hectare nature reserve provides a fascinating glimpse into the coexistence of wildlife and spirituality that defines Balinese culture. Admission is very affordable, making it accessible to all travellers regardless of budget.

Types of Hotels Available in Ubud

Luxury Wellness Resorts

Ubud is renowned for its world-class wellness resorts, many of which have been featured in international travel publications. These properties typically offer private infinity pools overlooking jungle canopies, in-house spas with traditional Balinese healing treatments, and farm-to-table dining experiences. Rates for luxury wellness resorts generally range from SGD 300 | SGD 1,000 per night, with many including daily yoga sessions, wellness consultations, and gourmet meals in their packages.

Mid-Range Boutique Hotels

The mid-range boutique hotel segment in Ubud is particularly strong, with properties offering exceptional value for money. These hotels often feature stunning architectural design that blends modern comfort with traditional Balinese aesthetics. Expect beautifully appointed rooms with views of rice paddies or tropical gardens, swimming pools, and complimentary breakfast. Prices typically range from SGD 70 | SGD 300 per night.

Budget Homestays & Guesthouses

One of Ubud's greatest charms is its abundance of family-run homestays that offer an authentic Balinese living experience. These guesthouses are often set within family compounds, where guests can observe daily offering rituals and interact with local hosts. Rates start from as low as SGD 20 | SGD 70 per night, often including a homemade Balinese breakfast. For Singaporean travellers seeking cultural immersion at an incredible price point, Ubud homestays are hard to beat.

Top Attractions Near Your Ubud Hotel

The Tegallalang Rice Terraces are arguably Ubud's most photographed attraction, and for good reason. These spectacular cascading paddies, carved into the hillside using the traditional Balinese subak irrigation system, create a breathtaking landscape that epitomises the natural beauty of Bali. Several cafes and restaurants perched along the terrace rim offer panoramic views, making them ideal spots for a leisurely breakfast or afternoon coffee.

Art galleries abound throughout Ubud, ranging from the prestigious Neka Art Museum and ARMA Museum to intimate artist studios tucked away in quiet lanes. Ubud has been a magnet for artists since the 1930s, when European painters like Walter Spies settled here and began collaborating with local Balinese artists. This rich artistic heritage continues today, with galleries showcasing everything from traditional Balinese paintings to contemporary installations.

For adventure seekers, Ubud offers white water rafting on the Ayung River, cycling tours through rural villages, and jungle trekking to hidden waterfalls such as Tegenungan and Tibumana. These activities can typically be arranged through your hotel or booked via Traveloka at competitive prices.

Best Time to Book an Ubud Hotel

Ubud's highland location means it receives more rainfall than coastal Bali, but the lush greenery that results is part of its allure. The dry season from April to October offers the most comfortable weather for outdoor activities and sightseeing. During this period, the rice terraces are at their most vibrant green, particularly from May to July when the paddies are fully planted.

The wet season from November to March brings heavier rains, typically in the afternoon and evening, but mornings are often clear and beautiful. Hotel rates drop significantly during this period, with discounts of 30% to 50% common on Traveloka. Singaporean travellers who do not mind occasional rain can enjoy a much quieter Ubud with excellent accommodation deals.

Dining & Culinary Experiences in Ubud

Ubud has emerged as one of Southeast Asia's most exciting culinary destinations. The farm-to-table movement is deeply embedded here, with many restaurants sourcing ingredients from their own organic gardens. Locavore, one of Ubud's most acclaimed restaurants, has put Balinese cuisine on the global gastronomic map with its innovative tasting menus featuring locally foraged ingredients.

For more casual dining, the Ubud Market area and Jalan Hanoman are lined with cafes and warungs serving everything from smoothie bowls and avocado toast to traditional nasi campur and babi guling. Prices are exceptionally gentle on the wallet, with a satisfying meal at a local warung costing as little as SGD 3 to SGD 5.
