M’s Inn Higashiyama

Easy to walk everywhere, clean rooms, great staff

This was such a spacious hotel room in a great area and was extremely affordable. The room was always a little warm during my stay, but the weather was cold outside, so that was better than the room being too cold. I hope a room is available next time I'm in Kyoto as I would absolutely stay here again. And a huge bonus for having in-room laundry!

Clean spacious and easy check in

Staff were great, the room was a little tired, stains on pillowcases. Quiet room, excellent location for sightseeing!

Friendly staff & really well situated.

Just not a user friendly hotel. Water in sink was always cold. Washer/dryer took over 5 hrs & still didn’t dry. I don’t think I’ll be staying here again

First time in Kyoto and had a great experience! Room was clean spacious for 4 people! Perfect distance from shops, restaurants and train stations!

The laundry amenity was something I didn't know I needed until it was there. It's nice not to have a suitcase full of dirty clothes. The kitchen was perfect!

Near all the tourist location and large sized room

Somewhat far from main areas but taxis here are frequent and cheap. Room is very spacious for Japan and can sleep more than 4 if you use both futons and beds. In room washer dryer is nice but didn’t dry very well, needs to be serviced.

Plenty of space. Large bedroom, separate area with fridge and microwave. Nice bathroom and personal washer/dryer in the suite. Short walk to many areas of interest and the bus stop to the train station. Staff were always helpful.

Great attention to details, everything orderly. Close access to many of the sights and activities the typical traveler wants to engage.

I was a little nervous about this hotel, but it is actually amazing. Great location and just an easy hotel to be in. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles which was actually really nice

Ok so it’s not a full service hotel, if you want that it’s not for you. Best most comfortable room on my trip. Super clean big and even a washing machine. Location spot on. Would definitely return suck good value.

Our family enjoyed our stay at M’s Inn. It was clean and comfortable. The long corridor did take up most of the unit space, but it was big enough for a short stay bigger than any hotel room. We loved the separate toilet and shower. We made good use of the washer. The AC was sufficient and the beds were comfortable. The inn is located in Higashiyama on the east side of the Kamo River, so it’s very quiet at night. The surrounding area is beautiful with many traditional buildings. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the two nearest train stations (the inn is located between two). It’s a 15-20 minute walk to the Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka area. It’s a 10-15 minute walk to Pontocho Alley and the main street on the west side of the river, where it is much busier even at night. Check in process was smooth as there was someone there to support, but do note that there usually isn’t staff on site. They were able to accommodate receiving our luggage ahead of check in, so we’re thankful as that helped a lot. Overall a clean and peaceful stay at M’s Inn. Would recommend if you are looking to stay somewhere quieter but not too far from all the action.

It’s been a long time since I had great customer service at a hotel. These guys hit the spot. Highly recommend and I am returning next time I am in Kyoto.
