The Ryokan exceeded all our expectations. The food was absolutely outstanding -beautifully presented and truly memorable. The service was impeccable, attentive, kind and genuinely welcoming. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and cared for throughout our stay. Having a private onsen that we could reserve was the perfect touch. It was peaceful and relaxing.We truly enjoyed the authentic Ryokan experience.

The thoughtful staff, excellent kaiseiki dinner made our stay a fabulous one. The property is well kept & we experienced warm, Japanese hospitality - from lunch recommendations, snowball toys, to free flow drinks at the lobby and room. We loved Shibu Onsen town & Shibu hotel made it all the more special. The Onsen was great especially during winter.

The property could stand some renovation, but was nice overall and in a pretty location. The best part was the staff. They were very kind, considerate, helpful and accommodating. I appreciated them very much. And when I think back on my stay, that will be what I most distinctly remember.
