Excellent location, staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Rooms showing their age. Smart switches and TV service were finicky and unreliable. No ability to access or use Netflix, Amazon Prime or cast from your phone. Mattress had indents on both sides, needed to be replaced.

An excellent place to stay in Funchal! A very convenient location, with plenty of great restaurants and shops nearby. The staff is very attentive, the breakfast is wonderful and varied, and there is a rooftop pool and bar with a magnificent view!

Everything was absolutely fine during our stay. Service, parking, food, and overall hospitality were all very good. The hotel was comfortable, well organized, and the staff was professional and helpful. We had a great experience overall.

We had a nice stay at The Vine. It was overall clean and very modern in most regards. It was dark in the room even with all lighting on. The refrigerator was subpar, but all else was great. The location was GREAT!

I can’t rave enough about this hotel!! Parking included, fantastic and knowledgeable staff, unbelievable brunch/breakfast and the room was just outstanding. Reception was so patient with all my questions. Female staff really spent time with me and gave me the best advice. I really wish I remembered her name but she is exceptionally good at her role. I do wish there was a bottle opener in the room instead of having to get it from the front desk but that’s a small suggestion.

We enjoyed the beautiful hotel and room, breakfast was delicious with many choices. Best of all was the service. Thank you for a memorable stay.

Comfortable room, good breakfast and in a great location

Located in prime location in Funchal. Staff was super friendly and welcoming, they accommodated our request of early breakfast on multiple occasions (with an advanced notice). The hotel was clean and housekeeping was responsive.

Bar was good but the weather was Rainey and cold so the hot tub was not on

The pool is small. Breakfast felt a bit chaotic with a lot if people trying to get drinks and food in a cramped space

A perfectly locacated, high tech and high touch, high end choice.

Hotel location and parking were extremely hard to find and navigate. The hotel in itself was nice and had kind staff. Our room was upgraded but it had a very strange layout. Tub was in the middle of the room which is awkward if traveling with friends and family, the shower and sink leaked into the main room, and there was insufficient lighting. Other than that it was a pleasant stay!

The hotel is awesome. Very modern and clean. Perfect buffet breakfast. 5*.

Great location, breakfast and room.

The hotel exceeded expectations. The rooms were large, service was excellent and we really enjoyed the views from the rooftop bar. Dinner at the Ovu restaurant was the best we’ve had since we’ve been to Portugal. Highly recommend!

Good location, nice facilities, good breakfas

Clean rooms, great bar/restaurant. The location is also very central and walkable to sites!

The room is very very small. Not enough space to even keep the suitcases. Don’t be amazed by the excellent reviews. I doub’t if these are genuine. I paid £150 per day for 4 days and not impressed with the room size. The bathroom design is also horrible, no privacy and these to designed to save the space. The wash basin serves no purpose. If you wash your hand or face water spills every where. The design is also too dark and there is absolutely no view from the room (just the roof top of shopping mall). The staff was very helpful and good. Breakfast was nice and roof top bar and pool is also good. Jacuzzi and steam room is worned out. Some tiles were even missing. Will I stay again? NO. Will I recommend? NO.

I stayed at the property from December 2 to December 6. How was arriving very early on December 3 to the facility and didn’t know if my room will be ready so I purposely got a stay for the night before even though I wasn’t gonna arrive till the third. Upon arrival, there was confusion at the front desk, but after that was sorted, we went to the room to take a quick power nap because we had woken up very early in the morning to board our flight. Someone working the premises entered our room at around 10 AM without knocking and seemed confused that we were already in the room and asked us if we were checking out. I told her no, we had just checked in and she immediately left. About 15 minutes later another cleaning lady burst in without knocking and I immediately said to her that this room is occupied. She yelped in surprise and scurried out. After these offense, I went down to the front desk to tell the receptionist to confirm that our room is marked as we have been checked in, and to ensure that nobody else is coming into our room unannounced I explained to her what had happened and that two people had come in on two different occasions without knocking. She explained to me that they usually always knock. I told her that they did not and that it is unacceptable and to make sure that everybody knows that that room is now occupied. There was no apology or understanding from the lady at the front desk. This is a huge violation of privacy and I do not recommend this hotel.
