A wonderful experience, close to restaurants and tourist attractions. From the lobby to the room, everything was in good condition. The towels were fresh and fragrant, the amenities were good, and the mattress and pillows were clean, especially the bidet. All the staff were very kind and easy to talk to, especially SHARAN! She provided excellent service and had an interesting character. Hopefully, they can continue to maintain the good quality and improve even further in the future!

I recently stayed at Hotel Calmo Hamilton and had a fantastic experience. The hotel itself is well-maintained and located in a great spot, but what truly made my stay stand out was the exceptional service. A special thanks to Sharan, who was incredibly helpful throughout my entire visit. From the moment I arrived for check-in until the moment I checked out, Sharan handled everything with professionalism and a very welcoming attitude. It’s rare to find staff so dedicated to ensuring a smooth and pleasant process for guests. If you are looking for a seamless stay in Singapore with top-tier service, I highly recommend this hotel. I’ll definitely be back!

Jay, Dini, Sharan deserve recognition for their friendliness. Also, the location is very strategic. Besides, it is a bus stop (aft Kallang) and across the street is the Bendemeer MRT. Across the hotel also has a good restaurant: Indian, Thai, Western, Chinese food. Big applause for Mr. K Prata as their prata is very crispy. Will be back again soon!

The service was excellent, very friendly, and the location was really close to the bus and train stations. I was very satisfied with my stay there. Highly recommended 🥰

Overview of Hotel Calmo Hamilton

Hotel Calmo Hamilton is a 53-room, 3-star hotel at 40 Hamilton Road, Lavender, Singapore 209210. Traveloka's listing records the property as both built and last renovated in 2025, which makes it one of the newer small-format hotels in the Lavender area: a compact, recently completed building rather than an older property that has been refitted over several decades. Its modest room count places it firmly in the boutique-to-budget bracket, where the appeal lies in a tidy, purpose-built base rather than an extensive list of resort-style facilities.

The hotel is classified on Traveloka as a standard hotel, with rooms as the bookable unit. Its confirmed set-up is deliberately simple. Every stay is supported by a front desk with a 24-hour receptionist, a lift serving the floors, air conditioning, and free WiFi, with wireless coverage also listed for the public areas. Luggage storage is available at the desk, which is useful when your flight lands well before the 3:00 PM check-in or leaves long after the 11:00 AM check-out.

Because Hotel Calmo Hamilton opened so recently, it does not yet carry the long track record that older neighbourhood hotels have built up. Guests who prefer a newly built room over a heritage shophouse conversion may find that a deciding factor. As with any new property, the facility list and room categories may be refined over time, so the live Traveloka listing remains the best place to confirm exactly what is offered on your dates.

The hotel's policies are clear-cut: smoking is prohibited throughout the property, pets are not allowed, and the minimum check-in age is 18, with minors needing to be accompanied by an adult. These rules make Hotel Calmo Hamilton a quiet, non-smoking option suited to solo travellers, couples and small groups of adults who want a straightforward place to sleep within reach of central Singapore.

Room Types at Hotel Calmo Hamilton

Hotel Calmo Hamilton offers 53 rooms in total. Traveloka's structured data for this property does not yet break the inventory down into named room categories with published sizes or bed configurations, so this page does not list specific tiers. Rather than guess at names such as "Standard" or "Deluxe", the most reliable approach is to open the live listing for your chosen dates, where the available room options, bed types, maximum occupancy and inclusions are shown for each rate.

In-room features confirmed on the listing

The in-room facilities that Traveloka does confirm for Hotel Calmo Hamilton are air conditioning, a TV, a shower and a hairdryer. Free WiFi is listed for the property as a whole.

Features to check before you book

Other items that travellers often look for, such as a kettle, minibar, in-room safe, work desk, wardrobe space, bathtub or window view, are not confirmed in Traveloka's room-level data for this hotel. Some may well be provided, but they should not be assumed. If any of them matters to you, check the room description shown during booking, or contact the property through your booking before arrival.

Occupancy and who the rooms suit

Because the listing focuses on core essentials rather than family suites or connecting rooms, Hotel Calmo Hamilton is best suited to guests who will spend most of the day exploring and need a clean, air-conditioned room to return to. Solo travellers and couples are the natural fit. Families with children should note the age policy: minors may stay but must be accompanied by an adult at check-in, and the room options shown for your dates will indicate how many guests each room can take.

Facilities and Amenities

  • Front desk: a front desk with a 24-hour receptionist, so you can check in late or ask for help at any hour.
  • Connectivity: free WiFi, with WiFi also listed in the public areas.
  • Luggage storage: available through the front desk for early arrivals and late departures.
  • Elevator: a lift serves the building, a practical point if you are travelling with heavy cases.
  • Air conditioning: listed as a general facility across the property.

Several services are marked as not available. Traveloka's data shows no on-site parking, no room service and no airport transfer arranged by the hotel, and it records no on-site restaurant. Guests driving into the city should plan to use public car parks nearby, and anyone arriving by air should organise their own transport from the airport. There is no pool, gym or spa listed, so Hotel Calmo Hamilton is not the pick for a facilities-led stay; it is a practical base for travellers who plan to be out exploring the city.

On the policy side, smoking is prohibited throughout the hotel and pets are not permitted. A security deposit is required at check-in and can be paid in cash, by debit card or by credit card; the current amount is shown in the property's policies on the Traveloka listing, so check it before you travel and allow for it in your budget.

Location and Getting There

Hotel Calmo Hamilton sits on Hamilton Road in Lavender, postal code 209210, in the central part of Singapore. Lavender is a mixed residential and commercial neighbourhood between the Jalan Besar and Kallang districts, with Little India lying just to the west. The area has a working, local character, with shophouses, coffee shops and small businesses lining many of the surrounding streets, and it is a short ride from the downtown core.

  • By MRT: the wider Lavender area is served by Singapore's MRT network, including Lavender station on the East-West Line. Check the map on the listing for the most convenient station and walking route from Hamilton Road.
  • By bus: public bus routes run through Lavender and the Jalan Besar corridor, connecting the area with the city centre and other districts.
  • By taxi or ride-hailing: the most direct option if you are carrying luggage, especially as the hotel does not provide an airport transfer.
  • By car: on-site parking is not available at Hotel Calmo Hamilton, so drivers will need to use public parking in the neighbourhood.

Most international visitors arrive through Singapore Changi Airport. From there, the MRT, taxis and ride-hailing services all connect to Lavender. If you are still planning your trip, you can book your flights to Singapore on Traveloka and pair your fare with a stay at Hotel Calmo Hamilton. Because luggage storage is offered at the front desk, an early-morning arrival is manageable: drop your bags, head out for the day, and return after the 3:00 PM check-in time.

Dining near Hotel Calmo Hamilton

Hotel Calmo Hamilton has no on-site restaurant according to Traveloka's listing data, and the property policy states that it does not serve free extra breakfast. In practical terms, guests should plan to eat out, which in Lavender is easy to do. Whether breakfast is included in any particular rate will be shown in the rate details at the time of booking, so read those carefully if a morning meal matters to you.

The surrounding neighbourhood is known locally for its everyday food scene. Traditional coffee shops, hawker-style stalls and independent cafés are spread through Lavender and the adjoining Jalan Besar area, serving staples such as kaya toast and kopi in the morning and noodles, rice dishes and local favourites later in the day. Little India, a short ride away, adds South Asian restaurants to the mix.

  • Breakfast: local coffee shops in the area are the natural choice for an early start.
  • Lunch and dinner: hawker centres and neighbourhood eateries offer quick, varied meals.
  • Room service: not available at Hotel Calmo Hamilton, so pick up snacks on the way back if you want something later.

Once you have eaten, you can browse attractions and activities across Singapore to fill the rest of your day, from museums and gardens to guided walks and theme parks.

Why Stay at Hotel Calmo Hamilton

The clearest reason to choose Hotel Calmo Hamilton is that it is new. Built and last renovated in 2025, it offers a recently completed building in a neighbourhood where many accommodation options are older shophouse conversions. For travellers who value a fresh room and a simple, predictable set-up, that counts for a lot.

Its scale is the second draw. With 53 rooms, the hotel is small enough to feel uncrowded at the lift and the front desk, yet still has a receptionist on duty around the clock. That means a midnight arrival or a pre-dawn departure is handled without fuss, and luggage storage covers the gaps either side of your stay.

Third, the rules suit a calm stay. A fully non-smoking property, a no-pets policy and an adult check-in age of 18 add up to a quiet environment that suits solo travellers, couples and business visitors who want a restful night.

Finally, there is the address. Lavender puts you close to Jalan Besar, Kallang and Little India, with public transport links into the city centre and a wide choice of local food on the doorstep. If you prefer on-site dining, a pool or parking, those are not offered here, and that trade-off is part of what keeps Hotel Calmo Hamilton focused and straightforward.

Tips for Booking Hotel Calmo Hamilton on Traveloka

  1. Check the room options for your dates. Named room categories, bed types and occupancy for Hotel Calmo Hamilton appear on the live listing rather than in fixed published tiers, so compare what is shown for your specific dates.
  2. Read the rate inclusions. The hotel does not serve free extra breakfast and has no on-site restaurant, so confirm whether breakfast is part of your rate before you pay.
  3. Bring the right documents. The property asks for an ID card, or a valid passport for foreign guests, in hard copy at check-in.
  4. Plan for the deposit. A security deposit is required on arrival and can be paid by cash, debit card or credit card; the amount is listed in the property policies.
  5. Mind the timings. Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is by 11:00 AM. Use the luggage storage if your flights fall outside those hours.
  6. Arrange your own transfer and parking. There is no hotel airport transfer and no on-site parking, so plan a taxi, ride-hail or MRT route in advance.
  7. Weigh up the alternatives. If you need a pool or a restaurant on site, compare other hotels on Traveloka in the Lavender and Bugis area before deciding.

Pros: - Great Location: Super convenient for getting around since it’s close to two MRT stations (Blue and Green lines). - Food Options: Plenty of spots nearby serving delicious, reasonably priced food that suited our taste. - Smart Room Layout: Although I had mentally prepared myself for a tiny room, it was still a bit of a mild shock at first. However, I was actually quite satisfied with how well-organized and functional the room layout was. Cons: - Inconsistent Housekeeping: During our 5-night stay, I pressed the "make up room" button twice, mostly to empty the trash bin, which is quite small and fills up quickly when traveling with a kid. However, it was only cleaned once. The second time, we left in the morning and came back late at night to find the room completely untouched. - Unprofessional Front Desk: The reception staff were quite aloof and didn't seem very friendly. I didn't expect small talk, but processing my check-in while FaceTime-ing her boyfriend was definitely a bizarre experience :))) - Poor Soundproofing: The soundproofing is very poor. Every early morning I could hear rustling noises from upstairs, and almost every conversation from the neighboring room or the hallway was clearly audible. If you're a light sleeper, definitely bring earplugs. Fortunately, I was so exhausted every day that I still managed to sleep soundly. Overall: Still a good option for the price range, mainly due to its convenience and location.

Location is great, close to MRT stations and lots of food options nearby. Room is small, but still usable. Price is definitely among the cheapest. The negatives: every time I enter the room it smells very damp. Hot water in shower was not hot or even warm, just a choice between cold and slightly less cold.

At the price, the room size was alright. A lady and guy staff were very friendly and welcoming. However, the room, to be specific the 2nd-floor room, had a very heavy cigarette smell. As I remembered, I did not book any smoking room. The soundproofing is awful as the room next door had kids crying the whole night, which made our sleep miserable. But you can't expect more for this price.

The room is incredibly small. If you have 2 big trolleys, there is no space to open them, even though we booked a bigger room. No soundproofing at all (for rooms with windows), feels like you sleep with wide open windows at night! The sink was leaking, and we told the receptionist several times but no one came to check it out. So, every day we had to ask the cleaning lady to wipe out all the water from the cabins and floor. Clean and newly renovated bathroom, but the shower has no ventilation. The hotel is old and extremely cramped. There are bags with laundry everywhere in the hallways and no space to walk by.
