The resort architecture is really spectacular and inspiring. A wonderful place to relax and seek quiet. However, the interior detailing is not always up to the mark - small details that mar the overall impression - like for example the clutter around the entrance to 'Higher Room', the breakfast restaurant. The rooms are spacious and nice - I would have preferred that the small bed in front of the terrasse door seemed strange in the room. The large bed is rather hard and there is no choice in pillows. The two pillows on the bed were too large and hard for me. There could also be more towels .. needed for hairwash etc. Finally, arriving by car it was quite difficult to find the property and there were no signs before reaching the property. A detailed map on the web would have made it so much easier.

i Love Chiang Mai , people r friendly and helpful until I stay in veranda ,I have totally different kind of feeling . this is my second time to stay here since I really love the nature setting of the hotel. However, The front desk gave me a strong feeling that they are racial especially if you r asian looking . Not the only time we were offered dated or broken guest room and kinda rude assist by them compare to western guest , as a return guest I dun think they care, since they have no data about whether how many times you were staying in their property . We suppose to check in at 2 , we were there at around 3 , but we r the only guest to be asked for delay the check in time till 4:30 or even late, no welcome drink, nothing , but a rude conversation offer as a welcome . Perhaps because we made reservation thus hotel.com rather than their our reservation , it’s seems all the email and requests they will not reply ! I can feel they just dun give care for our stay.we were offered the guest room with the terrible smell of the toilet , I am sure they notice there ‘r problem of the guest room , that’s why as Asian , we were being offered a terrible room . We r here for vacation, we hate complaining , but we have no choice cause we are not here to suffer ! I was thinking to go visit their other properties in Pattaya and etc, but I think it’s time to break up with the Veranda chain , this is the worst service I ever received from the veranda high resort .

This place is very nicely designed as a sort of eco-friendly resort that blends into the environment which is in the hills of Chiang Mai away from the bustling downtown. The rooms seemed like a time share resort a lot of storage cabinets and kitchen. However, there were no plates or utensils. The dining is exquisite but more expensive than local food courts. To save some money, we brought some meals back to the room from these food courts but also had to purchase some paper plates/utensils to eat it. There are golf courses nearby and a nice spa at the hotel. Since we had a 6 week old with us, we were just looking for a quiet place to get away and enjoy each other and our new baby. The night dining is outside and is designed with a glass roof way overhead to block the rain. It was very nice with no real mosquito problem while we ate. They have a shuttle service to take you anywhere on the grounds you want to go, which was nice when it was raining. The infinity pool has a great view. The breakfast buffet was delicious. They didn't offer bar soap for the sink to wash our hands but provided it once we requested. They did provide a "detergent" with the usual toiletries, although we weren't sure whether that was for washing clothes or what. It certainly wasn't to wash dishes! Wifi was horrible! All in all, this place was not a perfect fit for us at this time, but we did enjoy it and would recommend for people who want to get away totally from downtown and enjoy nature.

I stay in the pool villa where the room is spacious, clean and tidy. I like the design of the pool and the jacuzzi as well. I am satisfied with everything except two things. The first thing is related to the restaurant. There are only two restaurants in the hotel. One is for breakfast and lunch. Another one is for dinner. The taste of the food is not up to a five stars hotel standard. It is also a bit overpriced. With limited choice, we eventually go back to the city to have our dinner. The other negative side is that the wifi is not stable and weak. I cannot watch even a short video clip sent to me from my friend. In addition, there is a lot of mosquito in the open area. I understand that it is not the problem of the hotel. Yet it is very difficult to stay in the outside area to enjoy sun bath.

Verandah Chiangmai surpassed our expectations in terms of spaciousness of rooms and service. The architectural effort to bring nature very close to its hotel guests is highly commendable. It's a pity that it's rather far from the city and many cab drivers tend to charge more or avoid making the trip. Overall a unique, unforgettable hotel stay.

Overall, it was a great experienced. Perhaps there should be airport free shuttle bus services considering the location is outside the city and more variety of the restaurant breakfast menu. Also noticed at night there are lots of worm crawling around the road.

Was disappointed to stay there, my room has no view and close to the street and car park. I could here the traffic from car park and street. The room condition was old and didnt maintain properly. The dining table was so dark. Dont believe the photos too much.

Service was lacking in the food and beverage department but the comfort, beauty and friendliness of the staff made up for this short fall. Would have been nice if the pools were heated.

Spacious 1-bedroom suite is extremely comfortable for three adult. Friendly staff is available 24/7. View is great since the hotel locates in the arms of mountains and hills. Highly recommend this place.
