Delta Hotels by Marriott Quebec

Not sure why Marriott put its name on this hotel. On the good side, the gentleman who checked me in at 11pm last night was very nice and helpful. It went downhill from there. I wanted a room with a comfortable bed and an in room safe. The room I booked was not available, so he apparently moved me to a larger room after checking to see if one was ready. What I got is a very large room with a lumpy king size mattress which would only be appropriate in a tenderloin flophouse. It is definitely not the Marriott Matress I’m used to. The room has a huge floor area covered in a worn, dirty and stained carpet. The bathroom door squeaks loudly from all 3 hinges; the toilet seat is not properly attached to the toilet and the toilet paper holder is hanging at a sad angle. A large tile piece is missing in the bathroom. Debris that was on the 5th floor area leading to rooms at midnight last night is still on the floor at 10pm tonight. The 5th floor common area carpet is threadbare in places and obviously not clean. And of course, the advertised in room safe is not present in all rooms and not in mine. The $28 breakfast buffet is bare minimum and the meager amount of bacon was gone by 9:30. Breakfast supposedly runs until 10:30 At $300+ a night, I feel like Marriott has scrolled SUCKER in big letters on my forehead. I love my first visit to Quebec City but I recommend you avoid this hotel at all cost.

Great stay!

Overall very good. Only two areas for improvement. Dinner at the sister Marriot fell short. Pasta was barely warm. Mussels and shrimp were almost microscopic. No garlic, spices, etc. Other shortfall was the heated, outdoor pool hours. Sat. and Sunday OK but M-F only 5PM to 9PM.

Elevators 20 minute wait because only 1 elevator was working staff acting like they didn’t know I saw several people complain didn’t find them very helpful just was not happy not that they care

It’s convenient, safe and quiet.

I liked the access to the convention centre

We like that it is close to the old Quebec City and walking distance to restaurants near by, as well as, the Quebec Parliament and battlefields. Hotel is clean and friendly staff. Will be back again.

It was close to town without the noise. Really friendly staff. Very helpful!

The rooms were a bit outdated

Good access to restaurants and parking. Inconvenient elevators - have to change every time you enter or exit. AC motor.very loud. No Kleenex in room.

Fantastic experience

This review would be higher if it wasn’t for the renovation work happening on our floor. The lobby is modern and luxurious. We head up to our room and the elevator doors open and we see a construction zone. Wood chips, tools, dust, boards, working men all outside our door. If you’re going to renovate the hallways, probably don’t rent the rooms happening right beside the work. It kind of ruined our impressions of the hotel and we didn’t like walking through that mess to reach our room every time

The Delta is an interesting hotel. Its interior architecture has a distinctly 70s vibe. Elevators and narrow escalators take you from the first, second and third floors, with separate elevators for fourth floors and higher (good security). Nespresso coffee machines in hotel rooms, which are renovated and spacious. I was given extra Nespresso pods, which I appreciate. The highlight was the outdoor pool, which was heated.

Great place to stay. Clean everywhere, professional service. I highly recommend staying there. Thank you!
