The Gate House is not fully renovated and craftsmanship in the room is just as good as normal hotel. I don't know why would someone pay that much, looks like it's just a name. Fairmont ain't getting business from me anymore. Thanks

Best property in western canada, Hospitality is excellent, staff is well trained and very helpful, overall a Perfect stay.

We stayed in the family Gatehouse rm 1003 for 3 nights. The place is the perfect blend of luxury and patina rustic charm. Only complaint was that the bathroom did not have a lock in a family room. And the TV could not be tilted or turned so the kids could watch from the bunk beds. The staff and site were pristine with full marks on friendliness and help offered. A mist stay

The whole staff from the check in desk to onsite restaurants were top notch, always asking about our activities for the day and making suggestions of things to see! They truly make you feel welcome! We loved our stay at the Fairmont in Banff

I am a long time fan of Fairmont over20 years, but never experienced such extremely poor Wi-Fi connections during our entire four days stay(5/13-5/17), internet access was slow and unstable in room and in public areas, which made it very difficult to plan activities during the trip. Reliable wifi is essential nowadays, especially when trying to plan activities, communications, or work during a trip. Unfortunately this became my major frustrations throughout our four nights stays in this trip.

I checked in on the 13th of May and were with a group. I had an extended stay. The only issue was the last night we had prepaid with Hotels.com and the reservation was duplicated. It was an inconvenience but the staff at the front desk was able to resolve it quickly. I would highly recommended this hotel. Worth all the money. The staff is very professional and experiencing Banff was amazing 5 stars

This place was awesome. It’s expensive but the service you get in on a whole different level.

Don’t bother staying here. It is too expensive for what they offer. There are many great hotels in Banff that offer the same at a lower price. The Afternoon Tea was the worse one we’ve ever experienced.

Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Historic "castle" was beautiful!

This is a beautiful hotel, basically a castle in the Rockies. However, it is an extremely old property and that in itself limits the property. The rooms are okay, very standard for what you get in a 3/4 star hotel. The bathrooms on the other hand are what you get in a 2 star hotel. The bathrooms are very very dated and extremely small. Our bathtub was chipped, it's also very tiny. You can just get one person in the bathroom, that is it. The toilet was also very very stained.. And not pleasant to look at either, they were clearly old worn out marks. The bathroom is not great. The bed and pillows were comfy, an AC that works. I think people see the building and completely forget that this is just a 4 star hotel. It doesn't look it on the outside but inside the rooms it is evident this is not a 5star unfortunately. The rate you pay for the room in my opinion is absolutely not worth it. I love my luxurious hotels and have no problems with paying alot of money for nice hotels... However I would not say the amount I paid for this hotel was worth it unfortunately. If you want to spend time in this hotel, explore, dine and walk around.. But save your money in my opinion.

The view was gorgeous, the room was light and airy, and the staff was kind and very welcoming.

Beautiful hotel and stunning location. Gatehouse room was spacious and the staff was very helpful. Close to downtown, easy to walk to, but they offer a complimentary bus/shuttle which we appreciated on the cold cold evenings.

Had to ask for water in the room, was advised to drink from tap! TV quality was not good!
