Great hotel in a great location, the rooms themselves really good so with a spruce and a good clean or even just a good dusting! But nonetheless a budget hotel.

Parking was easy and even better was the free Roam transit pass to use the duration of my stay. Staff was helpful and friendly, the cleaning staff worked hard during my stay. I loved being a short walk from coffeeshops and the downtown core. The building inside is dated so if you can see beyond older carpets and wood panelling you’ll be fine. The amenities were adequate but I treated myself to the spa and couldn’t be lured by the hot tub onsite.

Property is super dated. Walls and doors are paper thin. I was in a corner room as you came out of the elevator on the second floor and it sounded like every person walking by was walking through my room. Plus, my room was above the hot tub and impossibly hot. The only way I could cool it down was by opening the window, which let in all the noise of the drunks walking home from the bars and of the skid steer clearing snow in the parking lot at 5am. I guess you get what you pay for in Banff, ($153) but it was honestly the worst hotel I’ve stayed in ever! Oh, and the hallways smelled like weed, the towels felt like they were made of sand paper, and the house keeper had forgotten to close the fridge door all th way after cleaning so there was a puddle of water in front of a room temperature fridge when I arrived. Also, the parking garage underground said it was 5’10” tall, and while the entrance was that high, there was a concrete beam that was maybe 5’8” down there that took out my roof rack. My only recommendation is stay away.

Basic, old hotel but good location. Most of the reception staff could do with some training in customer service as they were very miserable and unhelpful. Bus to the ski resorts were a bit of a nightmare as massive queues. Banff town itself was excellent, lots of good restaurants.
