What Guests Say About Their Stay

Very close to the railway station which is why i chose it, only about 5 minutes away at a steady walk. Reading town centre only a few minutes walk away. Hotel was very clean and modern, breakfast was brilliant, everything you would expect. Staff where brilliant nothing too much trouble. Would definitely stay there again.

Breakfast is very good - buy it at reception it is cheaper. The choice and freshness is excellent. Probably the only budget chain that offers guacamole! The sausages and bacon are better quality than a Premier Inn If arriving late at night, the walk from the car park is pretty horrible. (Albeit, the parking is cheap) The hotel is really convenient for the Railway Station

Was not expecting much given what I paid but I was blown away by the service, the cleanliness and the breakfast. Not sure if they make their own bagels but they are amazing!

Avoid this hotel if you can, I had numerous issues during my 4 night stay here ranging from a dated hotel room with issues, lazy staff who were sometimes unhelpful & lifts that just wouldn't work when you had swiped your hotel card correctly.

An ideal place to stay for a night with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Room was extremely quiet and we didn’t hear a thing, until in the early hours of the morning other guests decided to bang hard on our door on the way to their room, which is obviously not great behaviour. Unsure why we were asked to pre-check in to then have to give the name of the second guest on arrival, which should have been covered by the pre-check in process. Easy walk to and from railway station and in the heart of town for food and drink. Would stay again if needed a cheaper option that staying in London.

Ibis Reading is very close to the train/bus station. It’s affordable and cosy. It’s a bit of a maze to find your room and the dining room but still a good value for the money.

The room was a bit like a cabin on the Brittany Ferries but larger. The room was clean but very basic- the bed was comfortable. There was no information given when checking in, so hadn't a clue we could have had breakfast.

Overall a good budget hotel for a one night stay. On arrival the gentleman on the reception desk was not very helpful with regard to where we could park the car. It was dark and very difficult to find the car park. When we finally arrived back at the hotel having parked the car the lady on the desk was much more helpful. Breakfast was good and the room generally ok. Carpet could do with a good clean as many stains on it.

I found my overall stay ideal. Only thing I found not so ideal was the smell in the bathroom. I couldn’t decide if that was coming from the toilet or the shower. It wasn’t something I made a complaint about because it only affected me when I was in the bathroom. The rest of the time I had the door shut and couldn’t smell it. There was the odd bit of dirt on the floor in the bedroom. I think someone may have had a birthday in that room as there was a couple letters, confetti size on the floor but other than that was comfortable and I had the best sleep every night. The staff were lovely, always warm and welcoming.

Outdated, and not reliable. I booked a room to share and specifically booked here because they had availability for two single beds in a room. The “single beds” were laid out as a queen bed with absolutely no space whatsoever to move the beds. Ended up having to sleep on the floor between the wardrobe and other pointless furniture taking the little space that was available. The bathroom fan wasn’t working and had been jammed with something, and there wasn’t even a hand towel in the bathroom.

Nice hotel in the centre of reading. 3 min walk from Central station. Breakfast was nice served in the NOVOTEL hotel. Price great . Value for money. The only problem was the parking where nobody knew how to reach the place. Finally after 45 min of asking, the parking was 13min walk from the hotel which is not easy to find but very far as well. The info on the site is misleading and the staff all they could do is share a postcode that takes you in no car zone area. Once parking found, everything went well and the parking was the reason of the 4 stars.
