ibis Reading Centre

Utterly hideous bed. If you like sleeping on concrete, this is for you. I got about 2 hours sleep and in the morning i felt like i had been pushed down stairs. I rang reception about 7pm to see if they had a mattress topper, any rooms with softer beds or even another quilt. The man on the desk could not give a toss and just said NO NO NO. didn't even listen to my reasons. He said house keeping had gone home. So in a big hotel in the center of Reading, you will not get any help at all after 7pm.

Clean room, plenty of options for breakfast, friendly staff

One up for a hostel. Lots of dodgy people around outside by the corner shop

We usually stay at the Ibis when passing through Reading. It is convenient for the station, practical and good value

Not enough staff on, my kettle was so dodgy had to fiddle with it to get it working, bathroom needs a better clean as lots of hard water marks, food selection was poor, tv didn’t connect to phone, staff was to busy to help!!

It's good, nut could be better.

Rooms could use a fridge, a deep scrub to get rid of spiders under the bed, clean elevators

Great central location, clean basic room, nice lobby/lounge/bar area, great views (room was on the 14th floor).

The hotel is well located near the train station, making it very convenient for us to make day trips to other cities as Reading is a major train hub. We like the room configuration too. Although the room is small but it has everything we need. Of course we like the price, really good value for money.

Toilet smelled and the pod moved around like being onba ship. Couldn't get the aircon to work. Don't stay if you have a car. Nowhere to park encomically.

Feel good

Fantastic value for money. Basic but very comfortable and the room is impressively well insulated against noise from the other rooms and street below

small room (but nice for shorter trips), VERY friendly and helpfull staff, the breakfast buffet was quite nice: there was a bit of everything :-) Cleaning... well... while I was trying to look for something I thought I lost in the room I found (i) a (thankfully) unused condom between the mattresses and (ii) a pill on the floor below the bed. The part underneath the faucet handle was also a bit sticky when I first "moved in".

Zero parking here, due to it being slap bang in the centre! Parking was a 10 min ish walk. Car park is reduced from £14 per a 24hr period, to £7 when the hotel validate your parking ticket. Issues with room. Moved room, then issues with second room. Offered a complimentary breakfast which was mediocre at best. Couldn’t fault the staff. All polite and helpful.

Nice vibe. Inexpensive. Clean. Small shower. No fridge.

The reception area appeared to be understaffed because I had to wait a while to be seen on 2 occasions. Staff- Polite, friendly and approachable. Room: Bed was comfortable, firm mattress and a good height. Pillows nice and firm. The bathroom wasn't cleaned properly, I had to clean the toilet and the sink had a couple of little black particles (looked like fluff), on the sides. Flooring in the bathroom wasn't cleaned properly. The carpet outside the bathroom was filthy. Window should have been open to let air in. The bedroom chair wasn't comfortable, should be padded. Tea selection wasn't great, (only one peppermint teabag). Breakfast- the scrambled eggs had water in it, the food (mushrooms, beans, eggs, and bacon was all cold. The hot chocolate was beautiful though 😍 Great location, close to amenities and local shops. This is the second time I've stayed at the Ibis and I like it, however in comparison to another hotel I've stayed at in Reading, which was slightly cheaper, improvements need to be made.

Very central. Room was comfortable and clean. TV a like limited in channels, but worked. Bathroom functional if a little tired. Staff really friendly and for the price I paid, amazing value.
