Very eclectic look - old style - some might not like the dark tones of the painting on the walls or in the room, but very cozy. Loved the dressing gown and chilled water in the mini-bar that had no booze. Great selection of teas and coffee; there was a kettle and a Nespresso.. the cookies and chocolates were nice.

Absolutely brilliant location- 2 mins from the train station, 3 mins for a night on canal street and 5 minutes walk into town for shopping. Great hotel staff and bar- you can get a free drink at the bar if you don’t need house keeping over the 2 days. Just asked for extra coffee capsules when needed!

Nice 5 am wake up by the Nulife contractors jet cleaning the hotel 5 floors below. Apparently a weekly occurrence and nothing can be done to stop it........though they are "sorry"..........would never book on a Thursday again ....shame as I visit for meetings on Thursdays.

I wanted to like this hotel, but unfortunately, I didn't enjoy my stay. My room was at the front of the building and had single-glazed windows, which meant I could hear almost everything happening outside. Buses idled beneath the window, people shouted in the street, and the constant noise made it difficult to get a decent night's sleep. The room itself felt tired and I suspect that ten years ago it would have looked quite smart, but time has not been kind to it. The wallpaper was peeling in places where it had been scratched, and the overall impression was one of a hotel that had aged. The room was also cold. Despite trying to adjust the air conditioning, I was unable to get the room to a comfortable temperature. To make matters worse, the illuminated mirror light could not be switched off, meaning I spent the night trying to sleep with a light permanently glowing in the room. Breakfast was another disappointment. It arrived almost immediately after ordering, suggesting much of it had been prepared in advance, and several items were only tepid rather than properly hot. A good breakfast can rescue an otherwise average stay, but sadly that wasn't the case here. I was also offered a 10% voucher for food and drinks if I chose not to have my room serviced. While I understand and support environmental initiatives, I would rather see hotels focus on providing a comfortable guest experience first and foremost. I left disappointed and would be reluctant to return.

Stayed for 2 nights, we were out from 6am to 8pm for the day on our return room hadn’t been cleaned. Rang reception and they brought clean towels. Really disappointed. Bed sheets were stained and not the standard I would expect for a Malmaison. Also rooms are tired and a bit grubby, bathroom needs refurbished, leaking sink tap, water just ran onto floor. However, location is fab but there are better hotels nearby.

Location for the city centre, station fantastic. Staff were great. Room good although surprised no kettle or fridge which for the price charged isn’t great. I would stay again but only if I could pay less than £190 for one night.
