Malmaison Manchester

Beautiful stay

I've previously stayed at the Malmaison in York which I loved however, the cleanliness of this hotel was not to the standard I'd expect. There were little crumbs/dust in the nooks and crannies of the room e.g. the ridge of the desk, around the bathroom mirror that suggested the room hadn't been deep cleaned in a long time and the curtains/nets were stained. I know some people won't have a problem as long as the main surfaces/ bathroom are clean but it was a big no for me. Service was fine, reception staff were friendly. It can get a bit rowdy in the surrounding area at night, but that's central Manchester for you. I wouldn't stay there again, especially for the price I'd expect better.

Bathroom was rather shabby

Great stay and location close to shops, bars and restaurants. 25 minute walk to our gig. Staff were friendly as ever, although the hotel is a maze and we kept getting lost looking for the stairs to avoid the lift and get our steps in 😂!

Comfortable bed. Good location.

Room was great, and the initiative to offer a free drink in lieu of room cleaning service that wasn't needed was a great idea.

Not the best welcome we have had, drinks selection very limited for a big city. Had a club room thinking upgrade, not a king size bed Pillows awful, TV over on the left wall. Whole place stunk of steak. I love meat but if your a vegetarian it would be a nightmare. Overall very average.

Great hotel, very clean and a bit funky…

Have been staying at this hotel for the last 6 years and it is my favourite in Manchester. Love the vibe and decour. Fantastic food and staff ja super helpful. Great location.

Upon pulling the sheets back there was something in the bed. Reporting this to reception I was rightly moved and off to sleep I went. Following day I go off to my meetings and rerun and the keycard isn’t working. Reception tell me I’ve been moved back to the original room and my belongings have been gathered up. Off I go somewhat dismayed to the old room. 30 minutes and not clothes so I go to reception to be told I can return to the old room and the software has a bug and nobody has been allocated my old room. Very confusing, annoying and needless hassle. Shame as I use this hotel a lot and will reconsider here on in

Great location and room size. AC kept cutting out automatically but engineering were able to temporarily solve each time we called them out.

Perfect stay as per usual.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating to my needs. The room was very clean and tidy and lovely extras in the bathroom and bedroom were welcome. Asked for extra pillows came to our room within minutes. Plenty of plugs, also tea and coffee facilities. Had a drink in the lounge, we found the lounge very welcoming with a lovely low key vide. We will definitely stay again when visit family or fly from Manchester , as hotel very close to Piccadilly Train Station.

We stayed in a suite which was lovely but starting to look a little run down, could just do with a bit of freshening up. The restaurant seems to have a major issue with flies, they were annoying at dinner but actually disgusting at breakfast, swarming the fruit! The french toast I ordered was covered in berries that were still frozen in the middle. Also not very 'dog friendly'. Last time we stayed we were welcome to have dinner in the bar area with our dog rather than the main restaurant which is quite normal and absolutely fine; this time that wasn't allowed so we were seated in an odd remote part of the restaurant away from everyone else. All of the waiting staff bar one seemed put out to have to come to that table and tried to stand as far away as possible from the dog (completely understand not everyone likes dogs, but it would make sense to send a server who doesn't mind). Our dog was literally just lay on the floor not bothering them. At breakfast, we were told to sit in the bar this time (after the waiter having to get a supervisor to agree where we were allowed - no plan in place). The waiter who brought the breakfast handed me a scolding plate as he wouldn't get close enough to put it on the table, avoiding my sleeping dog, burning my hands (it was so hot he was carrying it in a tea towel/linen napkin). There was absolutely nothing prodived in the room for dogs (water bowl etc), not an issue but normally a given when you pay a surcharge to bring a dog.

The property accessible to shopping and entertainment district. The only problem is shower was difficult to use.

Great hotel with great staff , stopped here several times and will be stopping again when in Manchester .
