All the staff were friendly and really helpful, especially the reception staff who found us an ice bucket and kindly filled it with ice 3 times, the room was very good except for a few niggles, the main one was even though there was a fan in the room which we didn't expect, sadly it was very dirty and didn't look like it had been cleaned for many weeks, they did get it cleaned for us but it shouldn't have been like that in the first place,we did report it to the reception staff plus we told them we were going to put it in our review which they were ok with, please be warned the hotel is only just outside the clean air zone.We will definitely stay there again and hopefully they will have put a small refrigerator in the rooms, which the staff have requested.

This was the second time we had stayed at Rooms Inn. Friendly welcome for check in. Well spaced and free parking. Easy walk into Newcastle city centre and only a short stroll for attending the Utilita Arena. Nice, clean room with a comfortable bed. Quiet at night and a good mix in the breakfast bag to start the day (to be collected each morning at reception). Would stay again and would definitely recommend.

Having stayed at this low-end budget hotel many times over recent years for location and value, this had always been my go-to when I'm working in Newcastle. After my latest stay, I doubt I'll ever return. I arrived quite late, and was unable to park my van in the main car park, and had to park in the adjacent overspill gravel car park. I checked at reception if this was ok, there was no suggestion whatsoever that there would be any issues. When I went to leave the next morning, my van had been deliberately blocked in on all sides by staff working in the hotel's head office attached to the hotel. If that was not unprofessional enough as it was, I'd seen nothing yet! I politely reported to reception that I was unable to move my vehicle, the lady on reception was instantly rude and verbally aggressive. She demanded to know which specific car was blocking me in - I said "take your pick" (there were nine of them!). She then impatiently stormed out of her seat, out of reception, and shoved past me to go and look herself while muttering an uncensored "FFS!". She then stormed back past me again and asked one of the staff to move their car. That staff member then came out and did so, making a point of not even acknowledging me. I know customer service is at an all time low these days, but this hotel is on another level entirely. Disgusting way to treat their paying guests, I won't be spoken to or treated like that, and will not be returning any time soon.

Review: Overall, I found this place disappointing and definitely worth the over inflated price (due to The GNR being on). The room itself was a good size, but both the room door lock and bathroom locks were broken. The paint was chipped all over and in need of an urgent refresh, and the sofa had massive dark stains (best just throw it out). The mattress was hard and there was still quite a bit of dust throughout the room itself. The shower was decent though. There was no fridge in the room. Location-wise, it isn't too far from town, but the cost felt hugely inflated due to the GNR weekend and limited availability elsewhere. Wouldn’t have stayed there otherwise. Overall, place is a bit of a dump and needs a lot of work.
