Thistle Trafalgar - Leicester Square

Nothing really wrong with my stay except I had a very small room - my fault as I booked at the last minute so that was the only room available. Breakfast was very nice but does get a little crowded around the serving area which makes moving around difficult. Staff were polite throughout.

Double edged sword, very conveniently located but also many random people walking around.

The room was cosy and spotlessly clean. Staff were very friendly and we love that the hotel is so central to everything

The room I was in - 618 - is awful. Terrible lighting and configured in the worst manner possible. The bar fridge was placed under the work desk, rendering the desk inoperable (I had to move the fridge and it was still awkward/awful). Terrible shower configuration - anyone larger than me will be banging themselves on the controls if they try to turn around. Nowhere to open and unpack without consuming the minimal floor space. Adding to the discomfort, the power drill going outside my room from 10am was excruciating. (I appreciate repairs will be necessary, but how about restricting them to between checkout - 11 - and checkin - 3 - when most rooms will be empty?) This used to be my go-to for London but increasingly it feels like it’s going downhill. 🙁

Our room stank of cigarette smoke - as did most of the hallway. Although the entire hotel is NON-SMOKING. We complained and received the tacit apology. Not good enough.

Staff was very welcoming. The room was clean and well appointed. The location was great - minutes to Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square and Covent Garden.

The only issue was the safety catch on the door was sharp and ripped a coat. We told reception and they just said to be careful.

The bed wasn’t very comfortable so had poor sleep, we couldn’t open the windows at all, the walls were quite thin so we could hear most things going on. Overall it didn’t feel like a 4* hotel and it didn’t feel worth the money I paid to stay there. Wouldn’t stay again.

Perfect location near museums and theater district great for the price in an expensive city.

Clean, comfortable hotel, great location. Friendly staff. Room are on the small side but fine for 1 or 2 nights.

The room was clean, the front desk staff were very helpful and friendly, and there was a benefit for skipping room cleanings (for the environment) that could be applied at the restaurant in the lobby. The elevators were quick, and the noise level from the street outside wasn't too loud- it is right in SoHo, so there is a lot of activity all around the hotel, but I had no trouble sleeping or relaxing once in my room. I would definitely stay here again in a future London visit, especially if I was looking to see theatre shows or try the SoHo restaurants and shops again.

Location amazing for Chinatown and visiting theatres. The room was clean and quiet for such a central location.

If you’re a total clean freak and can’t stay anywhere that’s not 100% spotless, this might not be the place for you. But if you want the best location in the city and an incredibly friendly and helpful staff, this hotel is perfect. The people working here make the experience truly great — and the spot couldn’t be better.

The staff at this hotel are outstanding and can't do enough for you. Such a refreshing change.
