Sofitel Lyon Bellecour

Room was very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was great size. The shower was huge. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was overpriced at euro 34. Great views from dining area

We couldn’t make the shower work. The in room coffee was of poor quality. The room was cramped. No Netflix on TV.

Our four day stay in Sofitel was absolutely a lovely restful experience The check in was seamless and perfect. The housekeeping five star. The overall experience was fantastic I must specifically mention Frederic who went the extra mile to assist in getting a doctor’s appointment for my Aunty and Maya who was very helpful and both made the unexpected need for treatment sorted. The hotel is situated in a central position for ease of transportation and a daily walk by the river Rhone was an added bonus . Lots of places to eat and walking distance to the Place Bellcour a massive open space surrounded by local shops and the Metro for rides to other areas in Lyon. This is a really nice hotel.

Good location but that’s all Room and hallways smelled funny, I could not sleep it was so noisy but noise was coming from inside hotel, thermostat did not work my room was set at 24 degrees

This is my favorite hotel in Lyon. I have stayed there half a dozen times. Can't beat the location on the river and easy access to dining. Also, as a dog owner, I love that there is a dog park half a block away and a large green space at the end of the same block. The staff is always helpful and friendly. No need to look further, this is THE place to stay in Lyon.

Great staff in a nice area. It is still a 5-star hotel, but it is a bit dated, I would the hotel an entry level 5 star.

This is a pretty hotel in a great location. The carpeting and water closets could use an update. However, we would stay there again.

Definitely not a 5 start hotel. Old and tired. Stuck in the 70s and in need of a major renovation. Bathrooms smelled badly and it was just terrible.

We were there in very hot weather and the airconditioning in the room and the rooftop restaurant were very good. Our room facing the river with roadway in between was surprisingly quiet due to double windows. Rooftop restaurant (Les 3 Domes) was very impressive with floor to ceiling glass and impressive views of the old city, the river, and the newer city. Mid-century deluxe decor. Very good food and we enjoyed dinner there twice. Location is excellent with the luxury Intercontinental hotel and "Grand Dome" complex 1 block away. The main pedestrian shopping zone is 2 blocks away and is great for people watching and shopping. Restaurants are all around the pedestrian zone offering a wide range of choices within walking distance.We were able to spend 3 nights there while only walking. Parking isn't cheap (about Eu30 night) but the valet parking garage under the hotel is extremely convenient and safe. In summary we would certainly stay in this hotel on our next vist. It offers a near perfect balance of convenience, quality, and value.

We enjoyed our stay at the Sofitel. Not only was it an excellent location (in between the Rue Victor Hugo and Rue de la République and near Vieux Lyon), but the service was exceptional. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and well maintained. The icing on the cake was the turn down service. We would absolutely return!

Great location and staff. Room needs to be updated. Bathroom tile and wooden trim needs attention.
