Our four day stay in Sofitel was absolutely a lovely restful experience
The check in was seamless and perfect. The housekeeping five star. The overall experience was fantastic
I must specifically mention Frederic who went the extra mile to assist in getting a doctor’s appointment for my Aunty and Maya who was very helpful and both made the unexpected need for treatment sorted. The hotel is situated in a central position for ease of transportation and a daily walk by the river Rhone was an added bonus . Lots of places to eat and walking distance to the Place Bellcour a massive open space surrounded by local shops and the Metro for rides to other areas in Lyon.
This is a really nice hotel.

Room and hallways smelled funny, I could not sleep it was so noisy but noise was coming from inside hotel, thermostat did not work my room was set at 24 degrees

This is my favorite hotel in Lyon. I have stayed there half a dozen times. Can't beat the location on the river and easy access to dining. Also, as a dog owner, I love that there is a dog park half a block away and a large green space at the end of the same block.
The staff is always helpful and friendly.
No need to look further, this is THE place to stay in Lyon.
