Room good bit dated. Staff great. Cooked breakfast, sausage and bacon cold! Couldn’t eat it

Room felt cold, no fridge, tv guide would not open up. Restaurant had full menu online which we had picked from and looked forward to since booking however when we sat down we were presented with a new menu with limited options. Food came out within 5mins of ordering and chips were barely cooked, they did re-do some new ones which were cooked longer but experience was already ruined. As dinner was so quick we decided to go to the bar for a drink yet had no Jameson or Jack Daniels or sailer jerries so had to order something else yet all were on menu. We were then later offered those drinks after we saw staff re-stock them on the shelf. I think was after my wife complained to reception. There was no apologies and offer to find some when presented with the problem. Really expecting more for a birthday trip away especially without the kids and was really let down. Breakfast in the morning was not much better, sausage beans egg and a “potato slice” for a fried breakfast is an abysmal option for what they state as outstanding breakfast online.

Regularly stay at this hotel and never disappointed

The original room was very tired and smelt of cigarettes - room 217. Robert was on the desk and was quick to move us to another room without any problem. The radiator was on FULL too hot to touch and no means to turn it down. It was on or off. Had to leave it on but open a window - a little counter intuitive on a below freezing night. The cleaning was poor. The previous guest had long black hair and this was everywhere, especially in the bathroom; didn't feel I could complain again - we were staying one night so we 'managed'. The bar experience was a poor as our last stay. We were able to get a cheese toastie at 20.30 pm but it was dropped on our table without any service. The staff really do not seem to care about service. A round of toasted cheese - absolutely nothing with it, no garnish or condiments. £20 The barman apparently had to beg the kitchen to provide the toastie so no flourish. he had to find us napkins etc. Not to service we get in the Bath Spa version

Just a great place

The hotel and room was quite tired, however the main reason for the low rating is due to their swimming pool being shut and filthy/murky when it was open. It made my wife sick being in that water. Not sure what they did with chemicals but clearly mistskes were made as they then shut the pool for a whole day. We literally only booked this hotel for the pool

Clean, spacious room. Quiet. Comfy bed, slept really well. A lovely pool that didn’t get busy. Breakfast was OK, breakfast staff very polite, friendly and helpful. Room needs a bit of updating and the crack in the ceiling seen to, but a minor point. I had a lovely, relaxed stay.

We did not use the bar. The restaurant was dim looked like a canteen. The menu was not what i saw online. Limited choices bland food tasteless. I left my meal .so we decided not to have breakfast based on the quality of food at dinner. We chose mcdonalds breakfast. We also took out the spare pillows and both had spots of blood on . We informed reception when we checked out early. Very disappointing stay

Clean room. Bed was not the most comfortable. Spa reception staff not helpful at all and didn’t give any guidance despite knowing that we had treatments booked; didn’t even offer a robe! And gave us towels when asked. Hotel is a bit dated. Jana in the bar and restaurant very kind and helpful. Food was nice.

The room was spacious and clean.The hotel in general needs an update. At the restaurant only 3 white wines available , at the bar ran out of rum ….,, Needs more staff in general , and they need training in the restaurant , had to ask for wine glasses to drink our wine out of .

Very poor hotel, beverage and food selection awful, cold hotel in reception areas and very poor ambiance and decor!

Great service and really like the little things they did for the kids i.e activity books and the hot chocolate in the room.
