The 4-star rating at Union Hotel is a joke and does not reflect reality. Do not book here. We arrived at 2:00 a.m. after a delayed flight with a reservation confirmed over a month in advance. Despite this, the front desk told us no room was prepared. We were forced to wait in the lobby while they hastily cleaned a room that had only just become vacant. Being told at 2:00 a.m. that a confirmed booking isn't ready is a total failure of their system. The rest of the stay was equally substandard. The Wi-Fi was non-functional the entire time, forcing me to rely on my own cellular data for essential tasks. Breakfast was poor, with low-quality food and undrinkable coffee. To top it off, the staff showed zero accountability. When I raised these issues, they dismissed me by claiming they couldn't offer compensation because I booked through Expedia. This is a pathetic excuse for a service provider. The Union Hotel is responsible for the quality of the stay regardless of how the room was paid for. They take your money but fail on the most basic hospitality standards. Stay elsewhere.

Hotel close to public transit. Easy access to everything. Tim Hortons across the street. Super clean, everything functional. Doors don’t seal, so you hear every noise in the halls and even see the light. Earplugs a must.

We took the train from Ottawa so this was a perfect location as it's very close to Union Station. It looked non-descript from the outside but as soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a significantly sized lobby / cafe / hangout space. Our room was small but super cute and trendy - very "boutique hotel-ish". We had an easy walk (~7 minutes) to Scotiabank Arena and lots of restaurant options all around us. I'll definitely stay here again next time I come to downtown Toronto.

Great design and good coffee shop

The location is really great if you arrive by train. The design is really charming. We found the scent in the lobby to be nice but a bit overwhelming, I would recommend to turn it down just a notch. Overall had a great stay, the only thing that really bugged us was the soundproofing of the rooms. We could hear everything that happened it the room next door, from the movie they watched to everytime they used the bathroom… It was a cheap stay, but for this last reason I would not go back.

Very clean and updates and also conveniently placed. Really all you need for a Toronto hotel stay.

Great location - Very close to Union Station. Nice hotel - room was clean - King bed was great. Restaurant on the premises was not quite what I expected but food was good.

Superb location in downtown Toronto. Very clean well appointed room with very comfortable King size bed. Very friendly and courteous front desk staff. Nice cafe located in the Lobby area and Tim Hortons also located right across the street.

Perfect accommodations, staff were so lovely, throughly enjoyed our stay!

The room was clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the decor. The heating and cooling system was loud and took me a little while to figure out. The shampoo/condition smelled nice but I didn’t find it worked well for my hair. The staff were accommodating and the very nice.

Great spot in downtown Toronto! Loved the vibe in the lobby/hangout area! We'll be back!

We arrived at 8:00 in the morning, wanting to leaving our luggage only, but the room was ready so they let us check in! While the room is small, it has everything we need including a small fridge. The hotel is super close to Union Station, waterfront and other attractions. Will recommend.

Convenient location

The breakfast was of very poor quality.

Breakfast was delicious, very clean room. Staff was very friendly. We had an EXTREMELY long wait at check in. It was a busy night in the city, so we were patient, but it took forever.
