DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole

We had a pet friendly room for our stay in Brighton Hampton by Hilton. The staff were very friendly and were able to provide us with a small fridge which helped as the weather was very hot. I made use of the gym, pool and sauna which made the trip extra special, which I also recommend. I look forward to coming back to this hotel. We didn't eat here because we could not bring our dog with us, however, Brighton offers many restaurants and cafes that do allow pets, so this was not a problem. Thanks to all the staff for welcoming us.

Most of the staff was helpful, but unfortunately we had the following issues: 1. No working phone 2. No flushing toilet 3. No cold water 4. Pool non-functioning ("too low chlorine levels") during opening hours. 7. A rubbish bag being left in the room after cleaning service had been there!

Flot hotel. Hurtig indcheckning. Fik tildelt et værelse på Mezzaninen. Virkede nærmere som et kælderværelse. 2 små vinduer oppe under loftet (ikke muligt at åbne, ikke mulige som flugtvej). Selve værelset var pænt og nydeligt. Stort badeværelse. Desværre virkede toilettet ikke ordentligt. Vandskyllet var for kraftigt, så vandet sprøjtede ud af toilettet og ud på gulvet. Der var desværre høj musik i området, som først stoppede kl 23. Hotellets reception svarede ikke på vores forespørgsel vedr. støjen. Om natten blev vi vækket af højlydte råb og skrig samt lyde der lød som kraftige slag. Et helt igennem forhåbentligt uheldigt ophold. Har meddelt hotellet om opholldet. De beklager og vil opgradere vores næste ophold hos dem. Det kommer ikke til at ske.

Fantastisk opplevelse. Meir oppmerksomt personale har eg sjeldan møtt. Frokosten var nydeleg. Veldig fin ordning med booking i basseng - obs at barn ikkje er tillat alle tider, men det går veldig fint. Fin strandsona. Hadde rom med utsikt over sjøen og gamle piren. Det gav oppholdet virkelig det lille ekstra. Vi vil definitivt tilbake, og kjem til å bu på samme hotell. Spiste i tillegg på naborestauranten The Salt room, og hadde der EiT av dei dei beste måltida vi har spist!

Lovely hotel. Very very clean and staff were so attentive. Next time we will stay for longer than a night and pick a room with sea view.

La habitación que reservamos no estaba disponible con aire acondicionado como venía en la descripción (justo reservamos ese hotel por la ola de calor) y nos dieron una de menor categoría, no nos regresaron nada por el cambio de tarifa y en la nueva habitación nunca fueron a hacer la limpieza durante las tres noche que estuvimos más que el último día.

WiFi too weak, bed too soft, otherwise very good

My Wife and I stayed for one night only with an Afternoon Tea booked for 2pm that day. Despite us arriving and a notifying staff of our presence at 12.45pm our Afternoon Tea did not arrive until 2.30pm. Apparently the kitchen staff were "very busy". When it did arrive, other than the scones and jam/cream, the Afternoon Tea was very basic with limited sandwiches and and an assorted selection of cheesecake only. The staff were apologetic about the delay but that was all. Similarly, at Breakfast the next day, my wife who is a celiac asked a staff member for some gluten free toast to go with her breakfast. Again, whilst the toast did arrive eventually, it was some 15 mins after asking and, as a result, after my wife had finished her breakfast. Again the staff were very apologetic but I really expected more from a Hilton Hotel and would seriously consider whether it is worth us staying in a similar hotel again.

I was locked out of the hotel car park one evening and was unable to leave in my wheelchair without assistance most humiliating as I had to pay extra for the parking!

Overall dry good staff were very good food is lovely very good breakfast but our room had a massive crack in the sink & a bad stain on the carpet but overall it was good

We really enjoyed our stay. We had such a warm welcome from lovely Kalim on reception and had the best pina colada at the bar. Best we've ever had. Lovely hotel, lovely staff , they couldn't do enough to help, We had a wonderful breakfast and really appreciated the help from the very friendly staff who came to our room and helped with extra bedding. Just a lovely place and a lovely stay :)

I booked a double King Bed room for my wife and I and when i arrived we were given a room with twin beds, not the romantic stay we was looking for. I was then offered to upgrade to a room with a king bed (which i had already booked) for an additional £20. Also offered a sea view room for £80 which i politely declined, then this was immediately reduced to £50, declined again and then offered to me at £40. I felt forced into paying for a double bed so paid the £20 where the room was a little smelly so i just paid an additional £40 and had the sea view room, but if i originally had the king room from the start i wouldn't have needed to moves rooms in the first place or forced to pay anything extra. Joanna on reception was not helpful at all. All that aside, the hotel was great, breakfast was lovely and bar was good in the evening. Unfortunately didn't have enough time to make use of the gym / pool facilitlies. Parking for the night was £29 (with a discount code provided by reception) Overall, great stay but did not get what i orginally booked and forced to pay extra for an upgrade. I am also a Hilton Honors Member and reguarly stay in the Hilton chain, but this counted for nothing as i booked with Expedia.

When checking in at the hotel I wa abruptly told that I cannot claim any loyalty points for the hotel stay because I booked through a 3rd party app. So what 3rd party? Airlines and other hotels don’t have issues like this. Ridiculous policy, when booking a hotel consideration of brand and loyalty definitely forms part of the decision. Then this and no point earned…
