A lovely hotel with character situated in the centre of Norwich, a stones throw from the cathedral, Elm Hill and numerous restaurants, pubs and coffee shops. A bonus is electric car chargers in the car park (£10 overnight plus £5 for charging - good value).

Excellent location. Even though the hotel was full on a summer weekend, the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The car parking was very good. Very nice complimentary Bentley experience. A great base for a very enjoyable weekend.

Great location in Norwich, great parking out the back, centrally located. Good selection for breakfast. Bedroom nicely appointed with nice bathroom.

Excellent position, with cathedral, shops, bars and restaurants nearby. The ride around in the vintage Bentley was excellent. The room was very comfortable, with excellent air con for the very hot weather. Restaurant comfortable with good choice. Staff friendly and helpful, we will return.

When you stay at the Maids Hotel, the one thing that is fixed in your mind is “stairs” unless you can cope with stairs at every turn, this is not the hotel for you. This is because the hotel is a heritage building and it doesn’t lend itself to easy step free access. I had a single room on the 3rd floor to get to it from reception I had to go up a couple of steps and down a corridor to the lift up to 3rd floor, from there I had go up stairs, down stairs multiple times before reaching the room and even in the room I had to go down two stairs to get to the bathroom. The room itself was okay although careworn and cluttered with too much furniture ( 2 armchairs plus a bench seat under the desk) plus the safe was too small, you couldn’t fit an iPad in it. It needs a redesign to bring it up to current comfort standards and some night lights on the stairs down to the bathroom to avoid accidents at night. In contrast, the money seems to have been spent on the public areas which are well designed an a joy to sit in. The staff that interacted with me during my stay were professional, friendly and very helpful. I only used the restaurant for breakfast which was the usual buffet fare but with a Norfolk twist . It was well cooked and tasty. In conclusion it’s a hotel that is resting on its history, location an£ its well trained staff but it needs money spent on bringing its rooms up to 21st century standards of comfort within the constraints of its heritage building.

An historic hotel situated close to the cathedral. The public rooms are very well appointed and the staff were helpful. My room on the 4th floor was comfortable, thought the bathroom was rather small. The hotel served an acceptable cooked breakfast.

Lovely hotel, very clean, staff friendly and welcoming. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The air conditioning and mini fridge were very welcome. Only downside was the position of the room 107) as right outside our window was the extracter fans from the kitchen which were very loud and noisy. As we were at the hotel for a function and didn't go to bed until 11:30 the fans had been turned off by then. Not a problem for us but be aware if you go to bed early. Breakfast was very good, piping hot full English and the usual cereal, fruit, yoghurt, toast etc. A lovely, historic building with lots of character in the middle of Norwich, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Excellent, upmarket hotel in the centre of the city. Parking was busy and would probably be full by early evening. We chose the hotel because of the parking and had no problems with our large car. Good breakfast but no a la carte choice - i.e. fixed price for the buffet.

Lovely stay and staff all really lovely. We hope to be back again soon.

Always happy staying here. Only complaint would be the shower over the bath. Not powerful enough.

Ein wunderschönes altes Hotel in bester Lage. Zwei Kritikpunkte: mein Zimmer war ohne Möglichkeit das Fenster zu öffnen. Ausserdem, gegenüber vom Hotel ist ein Lokal, das an Freitag und Samstag offenbar Livemusik anbietet und das enorm laut. Als Frühaufsteher würde ich das Hotel daher leider am Wochenende meiden. Ansonsten habe ich mich dort sehr wohl gefühlt.

Room was fabulous and clean. Staff were helpful. Lack of accessible mirror with good lighting in the bathroom meant putting in contact lenses was impossible. Breakfast was disappointing. When taken to our table one of the saucers had drips of tea all over it and when collecting our food a few of the ‘clean’ plates were not clean. Food was nothing special, no better than Premier inn. To be fair we didn’t order off the separate menu. Attention to detail at breakfast was a bit lacking for a high caliber hotel.

Lovely hotel in the charming heart of the city. The suite was lovely, the breakfast amazing, and the whole vibe in general was just spot on. Highly recommended!

The breakfast buffet was great! Staff were very helpful whenever I asked for anything. The hotel was in a great location, easy to walk to the City Centre, and historic areas of Norwich. Also enjoyed a drink in the Maids Head Bar, which was a cute little place. We enjoyed our stay - thank you!

Room was clean & comfortable and the staff were excellent, very friendly. Right in the heart of Tombland next to the cathedral, restaurants and a short walk to the castle & market. Breakfast couldn’t be faulted and was plentiful & the hotel had its own private car park. Definitely recommend.
