Lovely hotel, we were at a concert at the Utilita arena and it was a great location to be in. Great facilities and friendly staff. Would recommend

The room was comfortable and the staff were friendly. The food at breakfast was atrocious, even though it was cooked to order rather than from a hot tray - badly cooked bacon, rubbery scrambled egg and cold tomatoes.

Couldn't use the shower. The bathroom was overpowered with bleech. Made me wheeze and cough. The bed wasn't secured and leaned on it and it moved sideways. Turned off the old style air conditioning units as mould spores can build up in these. Opened the windows so bearable

The room window did not close so asked to move to another room. The window in that room also did not close and the heating did not work so had to move back to the original room where at least the heater worked. Not ideal but no other options available

Food was awful it had to go back. Room was nice but tv wasnt plugged in, reception provided an extension lead to plug it into the wall. When they left i realised the remote had no batteries. I just gave up

Greeting at reception could be better, always quite cold and salesy : once really ill and said I had to sit down, they didn’t help and reminded me I would still have to pay before I leave. The freight cabin fork lift round the back at11.30pm is worth a miss. Not had this issue before. Otherwise good

Everything was really good even helped solve a problem quickly. I wasnt impressed with the chamber maid though as i asked for the sheets to be changed as i accidentally spilt my tea (a whole cup)on the bed on the friday night, when we got back saturday night after peter kay, it was still the same bedding they just remade the bed with dirty sheets. also they put away the dirty cup we left out saturday morning.

Stayed twice recently, 1st time the toilet flooded under the tiles, the 2nd time there was a disgusting chemical smell when we entered the room - no wonder the windows were open. Night porter is simply not trained in bar service - a flat pint , and a 25ml baileys poured and charged for (should be 50ml).
