Mercure St Helens

Very couteous staff. Helped us with our luggage and always friendly.

Noice from the lobby i can hear at my hotel room on 2/F Manager told me that she doesn’t know how to solve the problem as the room is provided to me. No other rooms was offered and customer service was not good enough for problem solving

Room was clean and quiet. The staff were friendly and allowed me to check in early.

The reception staff were friendly and welcoming. My room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. I didn't use any of the amenities so can't comment on that. I was very pleased with the Mercure and would stay there again.

The hotel was easy to find, staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean.

Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were polite, friendly and professional.

The room was spacious, clean and warm. The en-suite had a bath and a shower. On site free parts bonus. I have stayed here before and will use this hotel again.

Good parking, lovely hotel and very nice staff. Lovely short stay but will return on our next visit to St Helens/Liverpool

Stayed recently for 5 nights. Hotel is attached to a leisure centre. The pool, spa and hotub are not owned by the hotel, so expect to mix with the public. Rooms are very dated but comfortable. Staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. The breakfast in the onsite restaurant is amazing. Some shopping and restaurants nearby. Parking is free with stay.

Fabulous hotel with friendly and efficient staff. In the middle St Helens so well placed with ample parking (lots of signs telling you to book your car in!). Used the leisure facilities and they were great again with friendly and efficient staff and very clean. Restaurant staff great and the food was excellent. Can’t praise the hotel highly enough so won’t deduct any stars for the only bugbear from the stay. We booked half board but no details on Hotels.com and no details on reception apart from it was dinner and breakfast. The cost was £80 so seemed reasonable but the additional cost for breakfast on the booking page was £11 ( full cost £25). So even at full cost the “Dinner allowance should have been £55 but we were told in the restaurant to order as normal they would deduct £40 from the bill. Clearly not an economic option so will not book this type of stay in the future. Hotel might say they are deducting vat from the fee but that does not make sense either as vat is included in the prices paid. Drinks were extra which we expected and the cost in comparison to other places was reasonable. Will use Mercure again but not on a half board basis.

The reception area was beautifully decorated for Christmas. All of the staff were wonderful warm and welcoming. The room was fresh and modern and very clean. The hotel location is great for quick access to local shops.

All good, having some Asian breakfast veg options would have been fantastic.

Staff and breakfast great, but in Room 215 no hot water from the shower, we mentioned it to staff on reception when leaving.

Nice reasonably priced hotel not too far from town... Probably best hotel in town to be fair and a lot cheaper than staying in Liverpool
