The Boleyn Hotel

We use this hotel each year when we attend Royal Ascot - being a bit further afield means the prices are much cheaper - this however doesn't detract from the stay! The location is excellent, 5 mins off the motorway on the edge of Staines town centre. There is a generous FREE car park (which initially attracted us here!) and the staff are great. We arrive before check in time, yet they always manage to find us a room to get changed in which is perfect. Our room was good, decent double bed with nice pillows - only downside this year is that the room had a sky light, this meant it was light at 5am, maybe these need a blind over? Breakfast was good, continental, and then full english or omelette, I had the omelette, it was both tasty and very large! Breakfast was also included in the price. We use the pub across the road for a nice evening meal next to the river. 10/10 - will book again next year!

Great size room. Amazing powerful shower. Very well maintained and clean. Staff were helpful and the breakfast was good. Car park was aboe to cope with all customers cars. Would use again. Two floors with no lift so if mobility is an issue ask for a room on the ground floor.

Check-in was very fast and I was welcomed by a very helpful member of staff. I was offered a ground floor room with a shower which was ideal and the room was well appointed for my one night stay. It has a good size car park and is conveniently located close to the town and only a 10 minute walk away from the train station. I slept well and the inclusive breakfast was very welcome.

Upon arrival the room I was given the windows didn't close. I flagged this with the reception. He was very helpful and put me in another room which was much larger. That night I woke at 04:00 with my body itching all over. 2 showers later the itching was stopping. I went to the reception where no one was present and no information of how to contact anyone. I had no further sleep that night as I did not get back in the bed. That morning at reception I advised that I would not be staying in that room for an another night. The breakfast was below average and full of oil. Upon a full day at work I returned to find out that I had been upgraded to a suite. I have to say that the suite was wonderfully decorated and very tasteful however, that is where it ends. The table lights flickered when using them, I did not use them, the bath taps came away from the walls so I dispensed with the bath. and the heating came from a small radiator that emitted a strange sound which I allowed to heat the room before I turned it off for the night. I will not be returning.

Great location, quiet with lots of parking. Rooms was spacious, very clean and comfortable. Bathroom seemed brand new with good shower and water pressure. Breakfast was simple but well cooked and tasty. Staff were good and friendly.

The hotel is fantastic, really can’t fault it. Plenty of parking, the staff are very attentive and polite. The full English and continental breakfast are all included and again the ingredients are faultless! I have also enjoy and stunning curry from the on site Indian Restaurant. My room was very clean and a lovely bathroom. I will always come back to this hotel. Thank you

The hotel was ideally situated in Staines, Saffron Restaurant was gorgeous if lacking atmosphere. The rooms were A1, clean comfortable, great large car park Great value for money and right next to the river, i will return

Parking easy & a lot of spaces. Kingsize bed & bedding very comfy. Clean & in relatively good decor aside from water stains on ceiling in bedroom area. Good facilities - iron & ironing board, a long mirror as well as table one, a safe, a fridge & a hairdryer. Bathroom compact but clean & well thought out with a bath & powerful overhead shower. Grout immaculate. Toiletries from the White company. Towels white & in good condition. I liked the references to Henry VIII & Anne Boleyn in the bedroom & bar area downstairs. & the bar area looked very welcoming. Breakfast quite basic, but plentiful & perculated coffee was nice. However our omelettes were overcooked, my husband got cheese & tomato instead of tomato & onion which he asked for & the toast was a bit burnt. Unfortunately it was just lack of general maintenance & the breakfast that let it down. E.G. The room was very cold. It was not until morning that we noticed that the main window by the bed doesn't shut completely as no clip for the latch on the handle to lock into! 2 of the lamps in the bedroom didn't work so had to ask for new lightbulbs. When I asked for new bulbs, the staff member had to come and test them himself before he would believe me! Mirror in the bathroom was meant to light but didn't work. Aforementioned water stains on ceiling. Blind on small window broken & Blind on ceiling window damaged so couldn't open. Only 2 sachets of coffee and 3 teabags. If all resolved, I would have scored higher.

As a lone female traveller I did not find this hotel friendly, felt safe or clean.
