The Holly Hill Inn

This is a very good option for staying just outside richmond at a very good price. The staff were excellent and extremely friendly and the food and service lovely. Would recommend and lovely view of richmond and surrounding area. Thanks team. Love louise claire and the dogs

The continental breakfast was fine as were the staff

I hate leaving things like this but I think everyone would agree with me here when I say this. I pulled up in the car park and decided I would book a night there and then as it was in a gorgeous setting and a lovely day. Anyway as I was 2 hours away from Check in time I went for a walk, I then got a call from my mams care home saying she had taken a tumble and could I come straight away. This was at 2.15pm ( 15 mins past check in time) but I was still out on my walk and had not checked in. I went straight to the holly hill inn and explained my situation, I simply asked because I had booked through hotels.com and had not checked in yet if I could simply move my booking to another night maybe tomorrow and come back and I was told no! I explained again and said I am not asking for a refund but simply to switch the night stay for another so I wouldn’t lose out. To be told no! I spent over £100 for nothing and I really don’t understand why they wouldn’t just let me switch the night ( obviously like for like, so not a weekend) as I had not even got the key and entered the room! Not how I would treat my customers this much I know!

The breakfast was very good my husband had a full English which the really enjoyed and I had continental but was all so offered a bacon sandwich . But I had quite a lot so did not take that offer up

The room was very comfortable, a little attention needed to cleaning, the stuff was helpful.

Comfortable, clean room with lovely view over the landscape. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Also dog friendly……they even have a doggy menu! Choice of continental or cooked breakfast, which was very tasty.

Spotless room fantastic shower, fantastic staff very friendly people. We will definitely return in the future. Lovely inn.

The dog like it too

This was a great place to stay. Fantastic views of Richmond and the surrounding country side and the same time an easy walk into the centre. Very dog friendly and good dog walks from the doorstep. Bedrooms were big and everything very clean and in good condition. Food really well cooked.

The staff were helpful and friendly however the room although clean, was jaded and in need of some maintenance.

The room was spacious and comfortable. There was a charge for a cooked breakfast but was well worth it. The cold breakfast was included in the price. Pet friendly and will definitely stay here again.

The outdoor fenced off area was fantastic for our dog to have a runaround. Also the evening meal we had in the pub was excellent quality and reasonably priced too, the breakfast was also very nice and plenty of it. The staff were all very pleasant and easy to talk to. Overall we had a lovely stay, and we would recommend to friends and family.

Nicky and Helen really did go the extra mile for us, the stay was superb.

Heerlijk stil slapen. Schone ruime kamer. Gedateerd maar schoon. Badkamer oud. Wel een goede douche. Echt een herberg. Enkele kamers, weinig gasten. Lekker stil slapen. Buitenplaats (grasveld met picknicktafels) en wat speelgoed voor hele kleine kinderen). Heerlijk zitje voor lunch of borrel met uitzicht op stadje en oud kasteel.

We enjoyed our stay at Holly Hill Inn, the room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The view from our room was nice as we could see horses in the field and an overview of Richmond. The owner was very friendly. It is a in a good position to visit Richmond - a 10 to 15 minute walk downhill and obviously uphill on the way back! There was a slight problem regarding breakfast as we had booked our stay including breakfast. We assumed this would be a traditional cooked one, however on arrival we were informed that we had to pay more if we wanted a cooked breakfast. This should be made clearer on the booking site, especially as the reviews mention the "cooked to order" food.

large room and shower room, large bed, clean. lovely view over Richmond. However, shower room tired and needs refurb, the view is marred by old bits of wood and rubbish on the path outside the window. The surrounding gardens and access path need clearing of discarded equipment, and general rubbish.
