Lovely clean room, polite and friendly staff and decent breakfast. What's not to like. Happily stay here again

The Tickled Trout — West Farleigh’s Warmest Secret Tucked gently into the rolling green of West Farleigh, The Tickled Trout feels less like a pub and more like a love letter to quintessential Britain. It sits there quietly - cosey, warm, and impossibly inviting - as though the countryside itself decided to give you a hug. Step inside and you’re met not by staff, but by hosts, bright-eyed and brilliantly friendly, the kind of people who make you feel as though you’ve lived here your whole life. There’s a soft murmur of conversation, a clink of glasses, and that unmistakable sense of community, so rare these days, yet alive and well within these walls. And then the food arrives. Not “pub grub,” not even close - this is craft, incredibly good dishes that carry a quiet confidence,as if they know they’ll exceed every expectation long before you lift a fork. It’s the sort of cooking that makes you linger, savouring both the flavour and the moment. Stay the night and you’ll find rooms that are beautifully appointed, thoughtful in every detail, where comfort is woven into the fabric of the place. It feels like waking up inside a postcard - still, serene, and wonderfully British. What surprises most, perhaps, is how all this quality -the warmth, the craft, the welcome - comes at a price far gentler than it deserves. It’s hospitality done properly: generous, genuine, and profound

Smashing, cosy pub with lovely rooms, friendly, helpful staff. Grand pub food as well. Plenty of free parking as well.

Excellent place to stay

The room was beautiful and well stocked. The bed and pillows were very comfy. The staff were friendly and very efficient. A lovely place we would definitely go again ☺️

Great stay in a lovely pub set in the kent countryside close to the medway. Good food and comfortable accommodation.

Excellent all round. Room was pleasant with very comfortable bed. Had evening meal and breakfast both of which were very good. Large open space nearby for dog walking. Staff very pleasant. Would recommend without hesitation.

This is my personal opion. Always an excellent stay here. Staff are so friendly. Rooms, and i have stayed in every one of the 6 rooms, are superb. Food is fantastic!!
