This property is gorgeous! Wonderful staff, some of the best food I have ever had, and overall an incredible experience. Andres at Moments Bar was great. We enjoyed the activities and overall atmosphere.

We loved everything about this place! Gorgeous room with an amazing view. Buffet was excellent with lots of options. Service was extremely attentive in all aspects.
My only complaint is with regard to booking the a la carte restaurants. The only way to get a reservation was to stay up until midnight and book right then. But the buffet was quite good so we didn’t mind this too much.

Beautiful location and very nice rooms. A la carte restaurants were impossible to reserve so had to eat at the buffet almost every meal. Staff did not seem happy to be there and were mostly international so didn’t feel much like Portugal. It was pretty isolated so we didn’t see much of the island.

We were disappointed with our stay at this resort. While the staff were friendly and kind, there simply weren’t enough of them to deliver the level of service expected from a five-star property. The buffet food was consistently lukewarm and lacked quality. Accessing the à la carte restaurants was nearly impossible, as reservations were always booked.
We did experience an issue with our room, which was eventually resolved, and the Wi-Fi was spotty throughout our stay. We had upgraded to the Preferred Club, but in our opinion, it wasn’t worth the additional cost. Aside from a separate lounge with self-serve drinks and snacks and a private check-in area, we didn’t notice any real added benefits—especially since the regular check-in wasn’t busy when we arrived.
On a positive note, the resort itself is beautiful. The rooms were stunning, and the surrounding grounds were truly picturesque. That said, for the price point, we expected a much higher standard of service and overall experience. There’s definitely room for improvement.

The property is in a nice location, however the service is really poor. Staff don’t seem to be trained as all in hospitality. Also, the buffet is terrible for lunch and dinner. The service in the other restaurants is really slow. The review here echos the experience of many others and surprised that Hyatt are not addressing it. I also messaged their concierge service about this and the response I got was since you booked through Expedia, please contact them. So looks like they are just ignoring the fact that their brand is being affected.

Buena experiencia en general. Repetiremos seguro, ya que al ser un complejo tan grande no lo hemos visto al completo. He pedido una habitación cerca de todo lo principal ya que mi madre tiene problemas de movilidad y nos han asignado una habitación en la parte baja del complejo (por tanto ha tocado subir escaleras para llegar al edificio principal o llamar a un tuktuk de los que tienen dentro del complejo para desplazarse). La comida del buffet aceptable, la comida de los restaurantes bastante mejor (importante estar rápido para pedir reserva en los restaurantes, a las 23:55 ya dentro de la app, si no te toca cenar en el buffet). Muy recomendado el restaurante de sushi en su versión de espectáculo, un chef que cocina delante de ti). Aún es su primer año de vida, esperemos que siga mejorando. Deberían de añadir una zona de bar en la piscina de solo adultos, ya que solo ofrecen refrescos y cerveza, nada de comer (para eso te tienes que desplazar al edificio principal). Ojo como no vayas por la mañana a por toallas de piscina, que como vayas por la tarde te quedas sin ellas. Se puede aparcar dentro del recinto, pero extraoficialmente. La zona baja (puerto y playa) es la más bonita del complejo. Los empleados muy atentos y cordiales.

Toch vertoont het hotel heel veel kinderziektes; de properheid (buiten) kan beter, er zijn te weinig ligbedden aan de zwembaden (ze laten toe om ‘s ochtends al met je handdoek deze te reserveren ook al gebruik je deze niet), als er kinderen in adults onlypool spelen wordt er niet op gereageerd, de app om restaurants te boeken werkt ook niet zo vlot,…

The hotel is still in soft opening however, the location, amenities and family friendly atmosphere is great. Still some kinks to work out (speediness of dish cleanup, speed of service in speciality restaurants) but I wouldn’t fault the staff, Some are still learning. Incredible resort. From the moment we arrived, the property was breathtaking and very well maintained. It has multiple pools and dining options. The food was very good with lots of options. Reservations for the restaurants opened at midnight and you had to book quickly or you won’t get a spot. The resort offered many activities throughout the day and night. The gym was well equipped. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. When the star gazing was cancelled, they put out the telescope just for us. Thank you Paulo and David! Ask for anything and you shall receive. This resort takes luxury to another level.
It’s far from Funchal and not much around the property other than some beautiful hiking trails. However, the resort offered rental cars right on spot. The front desk arranged everything for us. We rented a car for two days and so glad we did.
Highly recommend staying at this resort. Rooms are very clean and spacious with gorgeous views. Property is on a large hill with lots of steps so could be different for those with mobility issues. Would stay here again and again.

Their World Café
International buffet restaurant had a great selection of food and lots of fresh local fruits! Service is amazing with cooked to order omelette station and cooked to order meats and fish to grill in front of you.
The Cocoa Cafe is where you can order drinks and coffee drinks until 10pm. They also served sandwiches and tasty baked foods. The service here was superb!
However, their a la carte restaurants need a lot of improvement. First of all, all their a la carte restaurants (except for the Você
Beach bar and their sports bar restaurant) need reservation. Reservations are difficult to book through their online system. A la carte restaurants were disappointing and food & service was subpar.
Seating areas by the bars and the pools were limited.
It was a beautiful resort but didn't offer 5 star service overall. I would not go back or recommend this place. Not worth the money.

The villa was very spacious, clean and had everything we needed and more. The resort had plenty of food options that were all great. Service was good.
Our personal small villa pool had warm water but every other pool on the resort was cold and there were no hot tubs. The kids splash pad was a nice surprise as it was not advertised on their website.
Location was close to a beautiful hike but a little far from the city. Keep in mind that parking and shuttles cost extra.
Some things that were not so great are that our balcony doors would not open or unlock at all downstairs and the doors in the upstairs balcony would not lock. The bathroom also had some plumbing connection issue and although it was thoroughly cleaned it always smelled of piss.

The check-in process took three hours, and unfortunately, our bags were delivered to the wrong room. Securing dinner reservations at one of the "exclusive" restaurants proved to be quite challenging. The buffet offerings for both dinner and breakfast were disappointingly cold and lacked flavor. In the evening, it was difficult to order a drink as the bar backs did not take orders only the waiters did. The accommodations were clean, and the pictures accurately represented their appearance.

Fantastic rooms, great food. There perhaps does need to be some persistence in training staff and getting them to use their initiative, but they were generally friendly. Location good, though further out from Funchal, so you just need to be organised if planning days out. Great for a chilled AI holiday!

This property is gorgeous! Wonderful staff, some of the best food I have ever had, and overall an incredible experience. Andres at Moments Bar was great. We enjoyed the activities and overall atmosphere.

We loved everything about this place! Gorgeous room with an amazing view. Buffet was excellent with lots of options. Service was extremely attentive in all aspects.
My only complaint is with regard to booking the a la carte restaurants. The only way to get a reservation was to stay up until midnight and book right then. But the buffet was quite good so we didn’t mind this too much.

The hotel is still in soft opening however, the location, amenities and family friendly atmosphere is great. Still some kinks to work out (speediness of dish cleanup, speed of service in speciality restaurants) but I wouldn’t fault the staff, Some are still learning. You can get a Bolt to many attractions and the “experience team” is there to always lend a hand. We will be coming back

Incredible resort. From the moment we arrived, the property was breathtaking and very well maintained. It has multiple pools and dining options. The food was very good with lots of options. Reservations for the restaurants opened at midnight and you had to book quickly or you won’t get a spot. The resort offered many activities throughout the day and night. The gym was well equipped. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. When the star gazing was cancelled, they put out the telescope just for us. Thank you Paulo and David! Ask for anything and you shall receive. This resort takes luxury to another level.
It’s far from Funchal and not much around the property other than some beautiful hiking trails. However, the resort offered rental cars right on spot. The front desk arranged everything for us. We rented a car for two days and so glad we did.
Highly recommend staying at this resort. Rooms are very clean and spacious with gorgeous views. Property is on a large hill with lots of steps so could be different for those with mobility issues. Would stay here again and again.

This 5 star resort is beautiful! Well kept. Rooms are amazing and very clean. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful.
Their World Café
International buffet restaurant had a great selection of food and lots of fresh local fruits! Service is amazing with cooked to order omelette station and cooked to order meats and fish to grill in front of you.
The Cocoa Cafe is where you can order drinks and coffee drinks until 10pm. They also served sandwiches and tasty baked foods. The service here was superb!
However, their a la carte restaurants need a lot of improvement. First of all, all their a la carte restaurants (except for the Você
Beach bar and their sports bar restaurant) need reservation. Reservations are difficult to book through their online system. A la carte restaurants were disappointing and food & service was subpar.
Seating areas by the bars and the pools were limited.
It was a beautiful resort but didn't offer 5 star service overall. I would not go back or recommend this place. Not worth the money.

The villa was very spacious, clean and had everything we needed and more. The resort had plenty of food options that were all great. Service was good.
Our personal small villa pool had warm water but every other pool on the resort was cold and there were no hot tubs. The kids splash pad was a nice surprise as it was not advertised on their website.
Location was close to a beautiful hike but a little far from the city. Keep in mind that parking and shuttles cost extra.
Some things that were not so great are that our balcony doors would not open or unlock at all downstairs and the doors in the upstairs balcony would not lock. The bathroom also had some plumbing connection issue and although it was thoroughly cleaned it always smelled of piss.

The check-in process took three hours, and unfortunately, our bags were delivered to the wrong room. Securing dinner reservations at one of the "exclusive" restaurants proved to be quite challenging. The buffet offerings for both dinner and breakfast were disappointingly cold and lacked flavor. In the evening, it was difficult to order a drink as the bar backs did not take orders only the waiters did. The accommodations were clean, and the pictures accurately represented their appearance.

Fantastic rooms, great food. There perhaps does need to be some persistence in training staff and getting them to use their initiative, but they were generally friendly. Location good, though further out from Funchal, so you just need to be organised if planning days out. Great for a chilled AI holiday!
