Mirage Colombo Hotel

Large room with everything you need. Nice view to the sea. Nice restaurant where you can sit out if you want. Attentive staff. Nice breakfast, the best I have seen from all hotels I stayed in in India and Sri Lanka. The beach is not so much to speak of, but fun to Watch the trains pass next to the sea.

This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I booked two nights with a Black Friday discount (regular price nearly 200,000 LKR). Problems began even before arrival: early check-in was only allowed from 6 AM with a 40% extra charge, and although I informed them we were 3 guests (2+1), I was told it was completely fine with no extra cost. When my flight landed at 2 AM and I asked to check in around 4 AM, they demanded payment for a full additional night. After a long flight, we had to sit exhausted in the lobby for three hours until 6 AM because they refused any flexibility at all. The room we finally received was unacceptable: dirty floors, stained bedding, a strong unpleasant smell, and a bathroom far below any true 4-star standard. At the pool, we weren’t allowed to bring drinks near the water, had to pay immediately for everything, and nothing could be charged to the room. When I raised concerns about the overall poor quality, staff suddenly insisted on an extra fee for the third guest, even though this had been approved earlier without any mention of charges. We also felt constantly monitored. Staff seemed to track exactly who entered and left the room and repeatedly questioned us, which made the entire stay uncomfortable. Breakfast was very poor with limited, low-quality options, and the general atmosphere was unprofessional and unwelcoming. I’ve stayed at over 100 hotels, and this was by far the worst. I strongly recommend choosing another hotel!!

Varasin hotellin normaalisti ja maksoin varauksen ennakkoon, mutta paikan päällä hotelli ei suostunut majoittamaan meitä vaan vaati melkeen yhden yön majoituksen suuruisen lisämaksun. Muutenkin hotelli oli melko rähjäinen ja uima-altaan vesi sameaa. Lisäksi paikka on erittäin meluinen.

Good view and helpful staff but we needed to wait for the room to be cleared. The toilet was slightly unpleasant but other than that everything else was fine.

We booked standard room. We got a free upgrade to a premium room. But the condition was extremly bad. Dirt everywhere , cockroach , disgusting toilet, poor breakfast. Totally not worth the price they are taking for the stay. Can compare the standard with a one star lodge.

Location is ok Pool a disappointment It was inconvient to have to pay separety for bar and restaurant services.

Since my last stay an year ago I feel the hotel has deteriorated sightly. The cleanliness can be improved The food was ok but I had it only once so I can't say much about it.

Hotel located far from airport, so rush hr traffic warrants an early departure from the hotel.

Mycket bra hotel med bra och trevlig personal! I colombo stannar man inte så länge för det är bara en stad men det var mycket bra att bo skönt efter 27 timmars flyg och vila upp sig innan resan började på riktigt.

The hotel was quite good. Room was comfortable and reasonably clean.

It’s being already conveyed in two different episodes There are better hotels close bye, may their rates not so expensive as Mirage but their services in no way second to a star Hotel. Across Galle Road there are Hotes better in services. It’s my fate that I listened to Colombo friends who recommended strongly now all of us are sorry about that. What to do my bad luck.
