Plas Coch Hotel

Lovely service and very large room, staff were very helpful, it’s and old pub but with free parking and the price was great. Meals are good and breakfast was delicious. Lovely small town

No hot water, challenging parking.

Budget stay. Room was okay but there was a horrible cheesy feet smell. Other than this it was clean and had tea/coffee facilities. Was given key and told were the room was but other than that no communication with hotel staff. Bar service was very friendly in the hotel. It was a cheap break so wasn't expecting much

Bad service not recommended bed conditions is not good

The hotel was very dated and creaky, but clean. The bed could have been more comfortable and the room we had overlooked the street and the pub opposite was very lively. Loved the breakfast!

Plas Coch is very good value for money. It's much cheaper than other local options, so you shouldn't expect luxury, but the standard was more than acceptable.

It’s a pub. Cheap. Friendly. Toilet didn’t flush properly, shower didn’t feel super clean and it was quite small. Bed was comfy. But it’s a characterful old pub and it’s cheap! Not many food options in Bala.

The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful, only disadvantage were the two flights of stairs up to our room which wasn't the hotel,s fault, but lovely views of the high street when we got up there !!!

It was somewhere to stay for one night. The beds were clean and comfortable. Generally the room was clean but the paint was chipped in many places and the furniture hasn't aged well. The shower had mould around the base and the bathmat was threadbare, torn and holy. The bar was okay. The staff were good. Interesting that the single beds were completely different heights/sizes.

Start off with the good points,the breakfast was very good and there’s a small car park round the back. Bad points are the room was very dated,not shabby chic just shabby,the 2 single beds were very uncomfortable,it wasn’t the cleanest,the only window in the room opened out on to the sloping roof which made the room really dark in daylight and very humid.

Friendly helpful management and staff. Facilities clean and tidy. Everything I needed and nothing unnecessary. Great value.

This is a nice comfy hotel. We stayed bed and breakfast, which was cooked really nice . The staff are lovely, helpful and friendly. It maybe a little old fashioned but it was a really nice and comfortable along with being good value for money, and we will definitely be back.

Sehr alte und abgewohnte Zimmer. Die Matratzen müssen dringend ausgetauscht werden. Das Frühstück ist das einzig gute bei dem Hotel.

Unser Aufenthalt im Vierbettzimmer war leider von einigen Mängeln geprägt. Die Einrichtung wirkte sehr spartanisch und einfach gehalten, was wohl dem typischen Standard in Großbritannien entsprechen mag. Die separaten Hähne für kaltes und heißes Wasser im Waschbecken erwiesen sich als etwas unpraktisch. Das größte Problem stellte jedoch die Schlafqualität dar. Die Matratzen waren in einem desolaten Zustand. Jede einzelne Feder war spürbar, und das Drehen im Bett verursachte laute Geräusche. Besonders unzumutbar war eines der Betten, das sich tatsächlich als uraltes Reisebett entpuppte und mit seiner Länge von lediglich 1,80 Metern für eine Person mit 1,90 Metern Körpergröße völlig ungeeignet war. Auch die anderen Matratzen waren sehr alt und schienen abgenutzt. Zudem knarrte der Boden bei jedem Schritt so laut, dass man befürchten musste, die anderen im Zimmer aufzuwecken. Ein Hotel sollte unserer Meinung nach bei einem Vierbettzimmer auch durchgehend vollwertige Betten anbieten. Die Qualität der Matratzen ist ein entscheidendes Aushängeschild für jedes Hotel und so schlecht haben wir selten geschlafen. Positiv hervorzuheben ist glücklicherweise das Frühstück, das uns positiv überrascht hat.

Pros: Friendly staff, comfortable bed, decent breakfast. Cons: Noisy during the evening and through to the early morning, due to the hotel also being a pub with lots of loud talking and laughing from the locals who drink there. I think the police attended at one point due to a fight. Avoid the place if you want a decent nights sleep.

Lovely friendly staff. Good variety of food on offer in the evening and for breakfast. The room was nice and big, although because of the old building, the floor was uneven. Pretty limited parking round the back. Overall a good stay.
