Frost and Fire Boutique Hotel

It was an okay stay. In my opinion, the best part of the stay was the nice staff! The rest of the hotel is OK, but not great. We spent 270 USD on the room with the view over the river, unfortunately this stay was not worth it. We booked the room with the view over the river, unfortunately we did not see much of the river as it was dark most of the time. So do not bother booking the room with the view over the river if you are not planning to actually be sitting on your balcony between 11 am and 3 p.m. The toilet was not cosy and the toilet seat was cold. The pillows very actually rather bad, very flat and in the morning I was very stiff in the neck. Selection at the breakfast was okay, but it is far from the best hotel breakfast, however we were totally fine with that. Coffee was good and the plates very absolutely beautiful. The hotel restaurant was amazing, the meat I ordered was truly amazing and one of the best steaks I have had! So skip booking the room, just book something cheaper in Reykjavik, come here for the hike, warm river and the steak at the hotel restaurant.

The best hotel found. Room with balcony points exactly at the northern lights. Great food steam cooked woth geothermal source at the restaurant. Very kind staff. Excellent.

Great per usual

We loved our stay at Frost & Fire. Our room was small but it was comfortable. The staff was incredibly accommodating. The restaurant on site Varma was gourmet quality. There are several incredible hiking trails around the hotel. We really enjoyed the hot tub outside our room. We also had a Northern Lights experience from our terrace which was amazing.

The rooms were smaller than expected, very small shower and bathroom, but the beds were comfortable and warm. The pool was not in service during our visit, which was a bummer, but the geothermal hot tub was great! We got to see some northern lights from it on our 2nd night! V

It was a little difficult to find in the dark when we arrived. Check in for the hotel is actually in Varma restaurant.

Nice place

The bed was very comfortable. Nice to hot tub while overlooking the quaint river setting. The bathroom sink area was small but that was a minor inconvenience overall. The staff, restaurant and food was excellent.we felt pampered and recharged. Even caught a small display of the northern lights here.

The hotel was very nice and the staff was very friendly. It was nice to have a hot tub to soak in at the end of long days exploring too. The area was really in a neat location, and nights were nice and quiet. Food at the restaurant was very good. We had the lamb and the cod. It was also super nice to have a good breakfast ready for us in the mornings to get our day started.

Lovely unique hotel. Ideally located as a home base, to visit many sightseeing highlights. The hike up to the hot springs behind the hotel was wonderful. Would recommend to any friend. The breakfast buffet offered a nice selection, and the staff were amazing.

The landscape was beautiful with the sounds of the river right outside our room. It was fun taking a cold plunge in the river and the pool and hot tubs were great. Breakfast was delicious and the staff was wonderful.

Great location on the river with the steam vents in the background. Geothermal heated hot tubs were the best! Property could use some maintenance and updating, but this was a minor critique. Overall, great location and a nice pleasant stay. Enjoyed our diner and the breakfast was a pleasant experience.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Hot tubs were great. Wish we could have stayed longer.
