Overall experience is brilliant: good lake view, good service, clean, comfortable.
But there's only one drawback: the shower drains very slow. I had to finish shower in 5 mins to avoid water flooding out.
I still highly recommend this hotel.

Overall experience is brilliant: good lake view, good service, clean, comfortable.

View from room 26 lovely. Trouble was blinds and curtains had to be drawn as room was very very hot. Air con did not work and hotel said it was policy not to air con bedrooms. Spoilt our stay

The hotel has a lovely view from the lobby, which creates a great first impression. We booked a lake view room, but unfortunately the view from our room was disappointing due to the ongoing groundworks directly in front of the building.
The staff were friendly. However, the cleanliness of the room could be improved.
The biggest issue was the temperature in the room. We understand that this is a non-air-conditioned hotel, but the room was unbearably hot. The fan provided was weak and did little to cool the room. The windows could only be opened a small amount, and one of them would not stay open at all, which severely limited ventilation and made the room feel very stuffy. The heat made it difficult to relax and get a good night's sleep.

Generally The Belsfield was excellent. There are only two items which were sightly disappointing.
The wifi connection dropped out everyday and really struggled to re-connect unitl hours later.
The in room safe was locked upon arrival and was never unlocked throughout our stay despit eit being reported.

We have just returned from a two night stay in a garden room.The view from our room was super and the view from the hotel across Windermere was fantastic.The staff were very friendly.We enjoyed a tasty full English breakfast with local produce.There was plenty of choice if you wanted to eat cereals, etc.
The reception, breakfast room and the bar are stylishly designed.The hotel is undergoing renovations, but this did not impact us at all as it was at the other end of the hotel. Our room was compact but had everything we needed . I would have appreciated a fridge in the hot weather.
Parking is extra but we just left our car for the whole time there and walked or caught a steamboat at the nearby pier. The location of the hotel was so convenient with a 2 minure walk into Bowness, full of places to eat and lovely walks along the lake.
We will defiitely stay here again.The hotel is authentic and full of history.

It’s a lovely hotel in a great position.
One thing to note is that you need to opt in to housekeeping which we weren’t told about when we checked in. Even requesting housekeeping at reception didn’t help.

Wonderful stay, pity that the hotel charges £15 per night to park a customers car.
The hotel was very busy due to a wedding party, overnight wedding guests made breakfast a full house.
The staff are all well trained and coped well.
