We came to celebrate a birthday and the view of the lake walking in was incredible and truly breathtaking. What a welcome. We had an incident the first morning which we reported to the staff, and Sarah the Manager was brilliant the way she handled it, couldn’t have asked for more. Then we absolutely must give a shout out to Ian, Nick, Charlie, and Miguel who were just incredible throughout our stay and really made us want to stay longer despite the workman around. They were so welcoming and went above and beyond for us. Walking distance from the lakes and shops (literally 3minutes), stunning views, restaurants and cafes everywhere, room service was great, dinner at the restaurant was amazing (burgers and Caesar salad). We’d definitely return and wish the new owner was keeping even just a couple of the dog friendly rooms - please!!

Great location friendly staff. Hotel in poor condition. Dated. Building work in gardens spoils view. Areas of hotel in dire need of work. Dining room walls unpainted socket hanging off wall. Room very underwhelming for supposed top suite. Walls dirty some areas old fashioned. Breakfast expected fresh cooked not canteen style buffet. Chaotic breakfast overlooking building site. Over priced for what it is and living off old reputation

Brilliant location in the thick of everything, there is work to one side of the hotel. This doesn't impact on you stay at all. Its had and having lots of money spent on it and its lovely to see the current owners are bringing it back in the style it was that reflects its heritage. The art deco style is prominent throughout. The breakfast was superb and the staff are lovely. All very friendly and seem reflect they like working within this tremendous hotel. When we checked in, the welcome could not havd been warmer. Charlie, on reception is a brilliant "front of house man". He was extremely helpful and always met us with a smile when we saw him. Its a skill to be familiar and friendly, without being overwhelming. This lad is an asset to the place. He as humour, familiarity and a brilliant local knowledge. All in all ot was a great stay. We will be back.

A very peaceful break and very nice bright clean room , nice and warm thanks for the portable radiator. The only thing I would of liked, smaller pillows as I had problems sleeping, l could not sleep very well.kept waking up with a pane in my neck, did not use pillows in the end, apart from that, had a very nice break thank you.

Really lovely stay at The Belsfield. Clean, smart, spacious and beautiful. It has been renovated recently and the decor has a classy and stylish manor feel, lovely lounges, view of the lake for breakfast, comfortable room, friendly staff, delicious breakfast made to order plus great muffins! Very relaxing a perfectly situated for getting boats. We will be back! Only downside was a sneaky £15 parking a day if you book through a third party. No real reason given for this. Hotel was value for money though.

Was not cheep. The plates were cold on the breakfast for both days so the breakfast was going cold as we were eating. Waiter said the plate warmer has just gone off, said that both days. And the parking was £30.00 in the hotel. As we were stopping there that should be included as the hotel was not cheep. This was our golden wedding anniversary and these problems spoilt what was going to be special. The room was amazing as it was a family room so all not bad.
