Grand Hotel , well maintained, and clean , great location

Clean and comfortable room. Excellent location. Easy check in.

Friendly helpful staff , room very comfortable& equipped. Good choice at breakfast , only downfall was quite a queue with just the one coffee machine which restricted the access around the breakfast area . Overall a very pleasant stay

Couple of gripes first. Why no plug sockets near the mirror? Two plug sockets were situated behind the big mirror which was nigh on impossible to get to. Had to lift the big mirror out of the way to get to it to plug my appliance. Also at £134 for a night - why only Nescafé sachets for coffee. Basic! Asked staff if they had any coffee bags - no. Was advised that Sainsbury’s was only round the corner if I needed to buy any. Room was ok, small double, bed was very comfy. Bit noisy as the bed was opposite the door, so could hear other people’s doors slamming. Didn’t wake us up though. The hotel itself is really beautiful and slap bang next to the railway station and a short walk into the city centre shops.

Ideally located next to the station and within a few minutes walk to the shops and city centre. We stayed here while going to a gig at the arena and it was about a 15 minute walk to there. Didn’t really spend that much time in the room/hotel as we dropped our bags and headed out and then got back late, but the room had everything you’d need including nice toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities, a little fridge, iron and hairdryer. Even though we weren’t there that long, we did notice how fantastic all the staff were. So welcoming, chatty, friendly and professional. If we’re staying in Leeds again, we’d definitely book here.

Room was very clean & tidy. Huge TV. Shower very good. Breakfast buffet was quite extensive.

The staff were very helpful. The rooms had been refurbished, with an excellent, powerful walk-in shower. The hotel was conveniently situated near the station and the bus stop for the airport.

The second visit in just over a year, and I would stay here again. Very friendly reception, typical Yorkshire. Excellent breakfast in the beautiful dining room. Comfortable room with all amenities.

The hotel overall was really nice and aesthetically pleasing. We didn’t get to try the restaurants unfortunately, but they looked lovely. My only two complaints were 1) the room was freezing and didn’t warm up at all, even with the temperature set to the highest, and 2) our checkout experience. We got back to the hotel very late after being out for the night (around 6am) and didn’t get to sleep until 7:30, so we missed our alarm, completely our own fault. However, a staff member knocked (the same staff member that checked me in, on my own at 5pm) and then let himself into the room before I could even get out of bed to answer. As I had checked in alone, he had no way of knowing who was inside, which made it feel very inappropriate. He could also see we hadn’t checked out yet, and I had a DND sign on the door. He didn’t apologise either. I apologised and explained we had overslept and would be 10 minutes, but he knocked again shortly after, which was frustrating while I was rushing. When I mentioned I was tidying up, he said, “that’s what the cleaners are for.” I understand that, but there was rubbish everywhere and it was very untidy and I would never leave a room messy regardless. I would stay here again, but staff should not enter rooms when guests haven’t checked out. It felt unprofessional, and I’ve never experienced this anywhere else.

Arrived around 9.00pm having checked in online as requested; reception staff were not very welcoming and handed me a key card to access room. No information about breakfast - we had emailed to say we were arriving late and asked about food option. No reply. Key card didn’t

We needed a hotel for an overnight stay. For the price that we paid we were not impressed. Hotel not as luxurious as we had expected and required updating. Staff were also not friendly or welcoming.

Bluetooth key app wouldn’t work, room tiny, very old windows that whistled, no telephone in room, sink blocked with hairs! Reception area nice but that’s the only positive

I do not dislike pets but I do object to dogs under the tables in the restaurant. My friend is allergic and we had to move tables due to this situation arising. It’s unacceptable! Also breakfast was served 7.30-9.30 but at 9.25 everything was being cleaned away and some guests arriving at this time were not offered specialist milks or hot food. Unacceptable really. My friend and I were in the breakfast room by 9.10am and so were well fed. However we were not allowed to take our hot drinks into the lounge and they were poured into paper cups. Not had this experience before. The rooms were very comfortable no problems at all in that respect.
