I love to go sightseeing with my family members and I have stayed in countless hotels. I do not use to write negative feedback but my experience with this hotel is the worst among all, making me to feel that I have to write something. First of all, the receiptionist was impolite and even rude. I was told that there was a charge for the carpark. When I tried to ask the fee for parking, I could not understand why I gave the impression to the receptionist that I did not want to pay the fee. She mocked at me in a way that I could not pay. As a solicitor, I think I did never intend to evade my liability of whatever nature. Second, I rented a family room. It was a nice room but located at the 4th floor, Seeing that we have 7 baggage, she just directed me, cooly, that to take them upstairs. She told me the time for breakfast. Because her English has a thick foreign accent, I could not hear clearly. When I tried to clarify the time but it seemed to me that she did not even want to talk to me. Or perhaps Icould not understand her English for the first time, she felt she had no responsibility to clarify. When my daughter came to the reception and wanted to ask if there was a lift to go up to the 4th Floor, before she could finish her sentence, the receptionist bluntly stopped her and shouted no. I am aggrieved by the receptionist. Although my room is good and the breakfast is satisfactory, I am sure I would not stay at this hotel again.

It isn’t so much the property that is the problem, it is the staff annd operation. I waited 4 hours for a room, the staff was unhelpful and uninterested, the central heating was not turned on until 1700 hrs so the room was cold, the restaurant food was basic and unappealing. Most confronting was the hotel’s policy that guests cannot order in takeaway - that policy was not mentioned on its website or the Expedia property description.

We stayed for two nights in a quadruple family room. The room itself was quite dated, although it was clean overall. There was some dust underneath the pull-out bed, which could have been addressed more thoroughly. On a positive note, the double bed was very comfortable, and the blackout curtains ensured a great night’s sleep. The in-room facilities were good, with a nice selection of tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. The bathroom was clean, and the shower was powerful, which was a real plus. The hotel as a whole could benefit from some refurbishment, as there were signs of wear and tear, including ripped wallpaper in some of the public areas. We really enjoyed the continental breakfast, which offered a good variety including cereals, yoghurts, croissants, spreads, ham, and cheese. The catering staff were friendly and clearly worked hard to keep everything well stocked. Overall, the location is perfect for exploring the Cambridge on foot.

The moment we entered the building it was like going back to the 1970's. To say a little TLC required is an understatement. Check in very slow. Our was in a separate wooden building smelling very fusty. Room was very old and basic. Shower cubicle door was very difficult to open and close and ended up coming off it's runners. This was reported to staff who said they would sort it out. After returning to the room some hours later it was obvious that nothing had been done. After complaining again we eventually got a new room which was better. The continental breakfast was less than adequate. Avoid !

A bit dated Misleading photo- there is a wide road between hotel and river Easy walk to Centre Mould round conservatory windows and bathroom shower Staff pleasant but no sign at anytime of any management Perhaps that’s why details are not observed!

Breakfast was ok but the continental one did not have any option for non meat like eggs ,chicken etc.only option was red meat.Room was clean but the duvets had human hair which means the cleaning was not done well.Another thing which we did not like was the continental breakfast people were asked to move to another side carrying food.The location was excellent and hotel was clean and neat otherwise..we paid around 114 per night which could have been bit less

Room was clean and very quiet. Check in good, staff very polite. Continental breakfast included. Plenty of hot water. Could offer choice of pillows as pillows were a bit hard. Bar offered happy hour between 6-7pm. Hotel about 5 mins walk to town center.

They charge minimum £18 for parking if you book through a third party like Expedia, however the parking is free if you book direct with the hotel. We went down for breakfast just after 9.30 on Good Friday morning to be told the breakfast finished at 9.30 even on bank holidays so no breakfast for us despite paying for it. Shocking attitude!!

The family room was spacious, which was great for our stay. However, we were not aware in advance that there is no lift, which may be inconvenient for some guests. The room was clean, but the furniture appears quite dated and could benefit from refurbishment. We were also surprised to find that there was no proper shower head in the bathroom. In addition, the hot water supply was insufficient, as it was only enough for two people to shower.

Good location, but very tired and dated hotel. Breakfast poor and basic. Disappointing for the price paid.

It was a lovely location and very easy to walk into the city centre

No shops but lovely view of the river

Great location, great staff. Bar is open noon to 3 on Sundays. Wish it was open Sunday evenings, but several pubs within walking distance. Wouls stay there again!
