DoubleTree by Hilton Southampton

The only issue was at check- in. I was assigned to room 309, but my key card wouldn’t work. The housekeeper took my card to get it reprogrammed at reception. While I was waiting, another young man came to #309 which he was assigned - and his key card worked. I went back to reception and I was reassigned to the correct room. The personnel housekeeping and reception) were very helpful and apologetic. I was grateful the error was resolved without incident.

I liked the property for convenience to port and it’s general feel.

Smooth check in, very late arrival. Very clean and smart. Spacious room. Beds ready for family of 3. Very clean. Parking price was irritating, felt unnecessary for guests. Served a purpose for us. Second time staying en route home from the isle of wight.

Dog friendly, clean fresh rooms. Friendly helpful staff especially Joshua.

Easy taxi ride from Airport. Good aircon but bed was really too firm. Had to check in then book restaurant which seemed odd. Prefer to prebook. Especially as they were out of some of the food, but the restaurant area was a nice friendly space. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Quiet, away from the hubbub of the cruise terminal - but 10-15 min Uber ride away. Nice bar, tasty food and very pleasant staff!

The hotel is nice enough in that check in was friendly and quick. The hotel seems a bit worn. The hallways looked a bit dated and with an empty ice bucket and cup in the hallway on the floor made it look tired. The room was ok but the bedding was very uncomfortable and we had to shake the duvets out as they seemed just shoved in the duvet cover.

This property was pretty much like other DoubleTrees we've stayed in - except in a different country.

Clean hotel and friendly staff

We stayed in this hotel a couple of times over the years and for this stay the hotel had been renovated, which meant the rooms and decor was more modern. However, the layout and exterior of the hotel is the same and feels dated and tired. We booked a room with a separate bedroom to allow us to put our child to bed which was nice, but the view was of the reception roof and bedroom window was a high up window again of a roof both were dirty and sofa was very uncomfortable. The rest of the room and bed was nice and clean and bathroom was also well presented. Room service options were basic and the 'tacos' were very disappointing especially given the price. Breakfast was good with plenty of options. Overall an ok stay, disappointed with the overall standard of this Hilton as I expect better from the brand and also compared to other hiltons this felt below par. I would not look at staying here again sadly.

Front desk staff were very welcoming and helpful. And they gave out the most amazing welcome cookie.

Stayed here the night before leaving on a cruise. Decent breakfast buffet with on call taxi. Relatively close to the cruise terminal. The best bet for a pre-cruise stay.

Very well maintained and friendly staff

Beautiful location outside Southampton. Excellent buffet breakfast - well worth £15 each. No SHUTTLE to cruise terminal, £23 taxi thro slow traffic.( no problem). Would return if cruising from Southampton.

The property faile dto honor our confirmed reservation and tossed us like a bag of trash. I would not recommend the property to my worst enemy.

Parking is tight and few spaces but located right off the motorway making it easy to get to other parts of the city and surrounding areas. Staff was wonderful and accommodating.
