We enjoyed our stay overall, but I did feel that some areas of the hotel are starting to look a little tired and could benefit from a refresh. For a hotel with 2 AA Rosettes, I expected a higher standard of cleanliness in certain parts of the property. Nothing major, but small details made the place feel less polished than I anticipated.
The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was welcoming — it just feels like the hotel is ready for a bit of attention to bring it back up to the level its rating suggests.

Lovely hotel and very friendly staff. Only minor issue was that neither window in bedroom or bathroom shut properly and it was December with a bitterly cold wind. Luckily we are ok with a cooler room and just shut the curtains. We had a small dog with us and

Over-rated. Horrible room and paid extra for superior room and early check in. Lack of choice for food.
Left after a few hours as couldn’t stand the thought of being in that room. Nothing to eat . Went out to eat and went home. Didn’t stay.

Staff were friendly.
Had the three course Sunday dinner in the restaurant which was lovely.
The bar had wood burners so was nice and snug.
The room was to a high standard. We opted for breakfast in bed which again was good quality and generous.
Free car parking just off the M6.

The room was spotless and very comfortable. All the staff were efficient, friendly and helpful. Although it was a very busy Saturday evening in the bar and restaurant, we had excellent and attentive service. The quality and presentation of our meal was exceptional. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.
