I have over 30 years of travel experience across different countries and have never encountered a hotel as terrible as this one! The pillows at this hotel are extremely soft, and even though we were provided with four pillows for the two of us, they were so soft that we couldn't sleep well. The room was very cold, and despite setting the temperature higher, it still blew cold air. Eventually, we turned off the air conditioning, but it still felt very cold (the temperature that night was 7 degrees Celsius). Sleeping on the third floor, I couldn't sleep well, so I went downstairs to seek assistance from the staff. I requested additional or replacement pillows and blankets, but the staff member rudely told me that all the pillows were the same, and if we wanted extra pillows and blankets, it would cost £20. I felt very frustrated and disappointed at that moment! I have never encountered a hotel that charges for additional pillows and blankets! Then I asked the staff what could be done about the cold weather and if there was any heating. The staff rudely replied that adjusting the air conditioning temperature was the only option. Oh my God! Although this hotel is conveniently located near the city center, has free parking, and the rooms are large, the rude staff and the extra charges for pillows and blankets are extremely disappointing and infuriating! I would rather pay more to stay somewhere else and never return to this hotel again!

This is the kind of hotel that you would use if you are travelling for business, coming to the area for a concert or festival. The bathroom looked and felt like it had recently been installed, which then led to the main room feeling behind regarding it needing an update. It’s what you see in the pictures. The room was a basic clean, it did smell musty but once we opened the window it soon went. The phone was not connected, when I lifted the handle it was sticky. The tv did not work but wasn’t in the room long enough to use it. The hairdryer also had a button that wasn’t working. The parking was no problem. Remember not to pay for parking until you have checked in so you can get a discount, something we found out after we paid in full for parking! Free breakfast was a bonus, great idea and enjoyable. It could do with more attention to detail, the metal edges on the stairs needed a good clean. The fan was also full of dust and the curtains needed a clean.

Parking is not free now but in fairness I was not charged because I had booked before charges were introduced. £10 per night now. There is a written warning in the key card that smoking is prohibited and that a charge will be made to clean the room if smoking has taken place. Strange because my wife and I smelt the odour of smoking as soon as we entered room 105. On day two I looked out of the ground floor window and I could see the ground was covered in cigarette ends. It is not a public area so is this guests smoking out of the window or a staff smoking area ? Last moan. Staff were noisy early in the morning. Breakfast is provided in a paper take away bag rather than a sit down breakfast. However overall good value in a convenient location some 20 minutes walk from the city centre. I would go there again.

I chose the hotel due to its distance from the college due to an appointment the following day. The room and the ‘breakfast in a bag’ was good. The staff couldn’t get the tv to work which was disappointing. The room was very warm and, apart from the window there was no way to cool it down. We did sleep ok though. All in all a good fairly cheap overnight stay

Good location, easy walk to arena, basic room but all we needed and clean. Ran low of bar items but due to change in service providers so should be temporary issue. Good budget option.

Decent stay, 10/15 walk from the station - staff were nice. If you’re staying in Newcastle on a tighter budget it’s an okay shout

Grab and go bags seem pointless as a lot looked like it was left. I am pretty sure I said I was allergic to apples and most days was apple only so that didn’t help. The towels in the room had stains on them and the sofa in the room was broken. The staff member when I first arrived was nice but the lady when I left didn’t seem too nice

Hotel staff member told me upon arrival that my room had changed from a double to a twin with no apology and was incredibly surly with me when I dealt with them later that evening.

The location is convenient, close to the city centre. Easy walk to main tourist attractions The staff are very helpful, and was the main highlight for this visit. If it weren’t for the staff, im not sure i would have enjoyed it as much. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. For the price I paid it was a great deal. They could use a few renovations. The takeaway breakfast was handy.

Excellent stay and will absolutely stay again as ideal easy checkin with friendly staff, large room and clean. Perfect location for short walk to Utilita Arena event. Breakfast to collect great range of items and simple pickup at reception.

The blonde female receptionist is lovely, very welcoming. The hotel is 10 mins walk from the Arena and city centre

The rooms were clean with friendly staff readily available if needed.

The TV in the room I stayed in did not have a remote control and the room has poor WiFi signal and the room keeper said bedsheets are changed once in four days, they should have mentioned that on the website, only the towels was changed when I requested a bedsheet change the next day. But I like that there is a church and a park opposite the hotel.
