It is very close to the station and Royal Mile. Not easy to access the hotel from the Waverley station. Need to navigate uphill via Cockburn Street with your luggage or you access North Bridge from Prince Stree. The building is very vintage but the interior is newly renovated. We stay in an executive room with lounge access. Nice lounge with different drinks and snacks. The room is spacious but the only shower is available but you've got all you needed in the room.

Furniture in our room was torn - leather chair torn, no curtains and there were workers outside our window. Hotel was under renovation. Bed back boards pleather was rubbed off (both beds). One of the teo elevators was down during our entire stay and the one working elevator was slow. Great location and the public spaces were very well kept.

Overall this was a great place to stay with an excellent location, amazing breakfast, clean and well maintained rooms. The only downside while we visited was that only 1 of the 3 elevators was working. The location of breakfast meant that we watched a lot of elderly people struggle with waiting for the elevator which was routinely filled with staff taking bedding to the floors above and they had to wait long periods for it to come back since the other elevators were not working. Once they get this resolved it will not be an issue. We were 2 adults and child of 17 years staying there.

A little confusing at check in as I added one night at the start of the stay which they didn’t have that request from me. The staff was very helpful and friendly, especially at the front desk and restaurant areas.

Room was disappointing at best - stick is in a handicap room with a view of the air units and a bunch of garbage on the roof - literally right outside the window. Table in the room was bent and sloping. Staff was mixed, some were great, others could have been better at explaining things - such as how to get down to the train station via the lift instead of walking multiple flights of stairs with luggage. We asked 3 different staff and got 3 different sets of instructions- none of which were sufficient on their own. Then there’s the lift situation - ONLY 1 working lift. Location is great though, but multiple other options around.

Spacious airy room, but noisy door to next room, bungled checkin, only one tiny lift for large hotel both guests and staff. Tired corridors. Poor value imo.

Room booked was for twin room, although two double beds were provided, one was a sofa bed which was not as comfy for an adult. Also TV poor reception.....basic channels not always connecting.....no ability to screen share for netflix etc. Location excellent.

Hotel was clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Check was fast and easy, a the hotel was in a great location.

Our stay at the Hilton Edinburgh Carlton was fantastic, offering a perfect base for exploring the city. The hotel is situated in an unbeatable location right on North Bridge, just steps away from the Royal Mile. It is incredibly convenient for travel, being a very short walk from Waverley Station and the St Andrew Square tram stops, which made getting around effortless. The Property While the exterior is currently covered in scaffolding, don't let that deter you. Once you step inside, the lobby is gorgeous and welcoming. The contrast between the construction outside and the elegance inside is striking. The Room We stayed in a room with two double beds, and we were pleasantly surprised by the size—it was huge, especially for a city-center hotel. There was plenty of space to relax without feeling cramped. Final Verdict Between the spacious accommodations and the perfect location for sightseeing and transit, this stay was ideal. We would definitely return!

Location is great, staff is helpful except one guy at the bar but there are lots of things I need to say. Building needs lots of things to do. It has only one lift which works with only 4 people capacity. Others were broken. It was generally full, thats why people were using stairs. Our bed frame was broken when I sit on it. There was a table in the room without chairs. Our plugs were out of electricity. There was construction scaffolds and workers has started to work early in the morning. Air condition was very loudy, it made me awake frequently. Thats all I remember
