It is very close to the station and Royal Mile. Not easy to access the hotel from the Waverley station. Need to navigate uphill via Cockburn Street with your luggage or you access North Bridge from Prince Stree. The building is very vintage but the interior is newly renovated. We stay in an executive room with lounge access. Nice lounge with different drinks and snacks. The room is spacious but the only shower is available but you've got all you needed in the room.

Great and very well located hotel. Its central location helped us to get to all places by walking. Excellent and friendly staff. Breakfast was great! I would recommend this hotel to anybody coming to this magnificent city.

There was scaffolding blocking our view and the walls were thin. The flood creeked snd we could hear normal conversation through the wall. Don’t plan to sleep in. Great location though.

The view from the room was completely covered in scaffolding obscuring the view to the sea. We were kept awake most of the night by a room next door full of crying children and shouting adults. In the morning at 7.45 the scaffolders arrived and woke us up crashing scaffolding around until around 8.15.

Property lacking in amenities. In the bathroom, no q tips, cotton pads / cotton balls. Tissue box empty and not replaced. Coffee pods, sugar and creamer were not replaced after using. Coffee cup and plate was put out in the hallway by housekeeping and the dishes sat there in the hallway for almost a full day.

Sadly, despite choosing this hotel to create happy memories celebrating my mum's 60th birthday, we left feeling disappointed and frustrated. Based on our experience, I would not return and cannot recommend this hotel to others expecting the level of service and quality that its rating and price suggest.

We had a lovely 3 night stay. It's in the heart of the city and perfect for quick trips back to the room when we're out seeing the various sights. Everyone was lovely and we are so glad we picked this hotel.

Great location, was very walkable. There was construction on the exterior that was minority inconvenient and two of the elevators were down which made getting to our room take longer a couple of times

Great hotel and central location! Very helpful staff. Renovations, including the total carpet renovation, made getting to our room difficult due to loud construction. The breakfast is amazing.

To begin with very rude front of house staff, demanded passport - I’m Scottish and wouldn’t travel with a passport to another city in my own country and didn’t have driving licence on me as we had taken the train. Had to get husband to send a picture of my passport. Thankfully he was at home. I was also travelling to go to a concert so had no physical cards on me and this wasn’t acceptable to staff either. When got to room no lights would go on and we went and checked with front desk they told me there had to be a light slot fur card - there wasn’t and they came to the room and had to apologise for that. There were workmen on our floor and by the time we got back to room with front house manager the lights were on - they definitely weren’t when we went to front desk Bathroom very old at mould in corners and warped door with water damage Not a nice pleasant experience and even showing my booking on the hotels.com app wasn’t good enough and at one point they were refusing to check us in
