Grotto Bay Beach Resort

The room was spotless. The grounds are very lovely and the breakfast buffet was good.

I got the room i chose. Enjoyed the viewing and the serenity.

Everything and everyone was top notch. Our room and the resort facilities were in excellent condition, even though we stayed in late November, prime time to make repairs or reduce staff. From the front desk to the restaurant staff to the groundskeepers, all were congenial, helpful, and welcoming. Our time at Grotto Bay was special and memorable.

The lobby was beautiful and the staff was very friendly. The location was in a good spot. There were options to do the all inclusive but we went into various spots throughout town to eat instead. We ate at the hotel the last day with their buffet and the food was amazing.

My husband and I live in Bermuda and visit Grotto Bay yearly for a few days in December. We enjoyed our stay overall. The foyer and inside seating areas have been beautifully renovated, and the property grounds and foliage are well-maintained. The front desk staff were very professional and friendly. The Natura spa in the cave was a calming ambiance, and the massage therapists were amazingly talented, especially Nyoman! I felt so relaxed afterwards. The Grotto Bay cats who live on the premises are some of the loveliest, sweetest, socialized cats I’ve ever met and they kept us company by the pool. When I come to Grotto Bay yearly, seeing them and giving them love, attention and treats is something that I very much look forward to. They add a homey feeling to the resort. Our room was comfortable with stunning water views, but unfortunately the balcony tile had green mold on it. The bathroom sink doesn’t provide much room for toiletries, and there is only one hook to hang towels on. There was a tear in the material on the box spring. The gym facilities had good cardio machines and free weights. However, the floor was filthy and covered in sand and dust particles. The water dispenser was empty, and there was a layer of mold on each outside window sill. Stunning views, but I was a bit grossed out by the lack of cleanliness. My wish is that next year, I’ll see an improvement in the cleanliness of the balconies and gym facilities when we return.

Staff & Service – the service was amazing, which clearly made the biggest positive impression. Resort Atmosphere – the property as beautiful, so the setting and amenities added to the overall enjoyment. Bathroom Issue – The only drawback was the odor in the bathroom, which maintenance couldn’t fully resolve.

Check in was not pleasant. We were just told to go out the door and turn left and we were not offered any help with our luggage with the incline and the stairs. There were dirty dishes outside my room when I checked in and it stayed there for the next couple days. The room was not cleaned properly. Pieces of paper in the bathroom and bottle cap on the floor. Housekeeping came knocking on my door when the do not disturb was on.

This is a clean, well-run resort. I would definitely return. The front desk staff, Sienna in particular, was very friendly and helpful. We had questions about getting around on the bus and they gave us great information. Our room was very spacious and clean. It included a safe and mini fridge and we loved the sliding doors to a patio overlooking the ocean. I would have liked a towel ring on the bathroom wall next to the sink to dry hands but not a huge deal. It's quite hilly and has lots of stairs, but the staff will bring your bags to your room when you check in and will bring them out for you upon check-out. There are always taxis available at the main entrance but there's a bus stop at the bottom of the drive. We stayed five nights and bought a three-day bus pass and it was absolutely worth it, much cheaper than taxis. The bus system is easy to use and the drivers are very helpful. The resort has a beautiful beach, pool, and hot tub. The Natura spa is a must!! We did a couples massage and the setting is magnificent! A peaceful underground grotto! We bought the breakfast-only meal plan because we like to have a big breakfast then explore the island for the day. It was $30 per person per day but worth it and has a great variety of options. The resort is a short walk from the Crystal Caves (a must see), the Swizzle Inn, and Bailey's ice cream shop. I highly recommend!!

Rooms were adequate, need a little TLC but ok. Lobby and restaurants were great. Staff very helpful and polite. Beach is beautiful in a protected bay. All Inclusive was worth it if not leaving the resort and included water equipment rentals. Had a gorgeous unanticipated paddle around the bay which made my my stay.

The beautiful balcony view onto the bay is burned into my mind! We had a great time! We hope to return once again in the near future. I'd definitely recommend this resort!

Breakfast buffet was very good. Dinner menu could offer some tamer choices. Staff were helpful and efficient. Room was comfortable. Pool area was very nice and well kept.

First, I’m staying at the grotto. Must say this hotel looks a lot better in pictures mind you they are renovating the property so things might change in the near future. This hotel is conveniently located three minutes from the airport and has tons of potential, but it’s lacking some serious attention to detail. This is a beautiful property, but needs to be cleaned and kept up to standards. The pool was dirty. The grounds weren’t clean. They have a beautiful grotto at the Property which is something out of this world, but needs to be maintained again. The lobby area was renovated very clean and the staff was great from the front door to the front desk but the rest of the hotel staff didn’t seem too eager to help. The beach area was decent but not the cleanest and the chairs were old. I don’t think we would be returning to this property until it is renovated. It was just not for us…
