Grotto Bay has seen better days. We arrived at check-in time to a very substandard room. The building was next to active construction, the room was so moist water covered the windows so you could barely see out, plus the alleged ocean front room looked out onto a wall of shrubbery, so the water was barely visible. After much discussion with the woman at the front desk, we spoke to the manager. They said they only had one available unit which was below the level we had paid for. He offered to reimburse $40 a night, which was not the price difference online. Eventually, he also offered an additional $50 credit. The overall facilities are not well maintained or especially clean. The pillows and bed were comfortable however. The microwave that they wanted to charge extra for was broken and they never sent another one. The property is close to the airport, which is what we were looking for our last couple of nights, but I would not go back. Expedia users beware: in negotiating with the staff and manager to try to get the room we felt we had paid for they kept saying, but you booked on Expedia as if that did not entitle you to the room you booked! I have had that attitude about Expedia at other properties but nothing this bad. Last thing, we ended up meeting another couple who had the same experience. Sounds as if the first room they were offered was as bad or worse as the one they tried to put on us. Good luck

We loved the location if this hotel and proximity to the caves

Check in was supposed to be at 3 pm. The room wasn't ready until 4:15. I asked the receptionist if I can get a later check out being as my room wasn't ready until almost 5pm and she replied call tomorrow morning to ask. Strike 1. The resort was hosting a private party in the main dining hall and it seemed as though every staff member was catering to the party and the regular guest were a second thought. Tried to order food numerous times and was told they'll transfer me and the phone rang and rang. They told me to come up to the front desk ask place an order and then only to come back and pick it up in person. I simply asked why can you just right the order down and past onto the bar. Strike 2. Called the front desk to inquire about the later check out to recover lost time and they bluntly said no. Strike3. On a whole most of the staff were welcoming and somewhat helpful but as far as the bartenders at the pool ignoring "certain guest" and continuously catering to others was actually concerning. There's alot more I can go on about but these were the main ones.

Besides the hotel rooms, being old and not so clean everything else was great for the kids. The beach was great. We didn't use the pool as much. We did find a few dead bugs in the pool. There were many bugs in the room, including the whistling, frog and a we found cockroaches outside our room door. Our first night there they we entered our room, and there was only one towel in the room that sleeps 4 then we had a room moved because we were near a couple who had a infant and you can hear everything in the middle of the night, so we heard the infant crying all night sounded like the infant was in our room and we could not sleep so we asked to be moved we removed, but we were so far from everything we were in building number eight and as far as the bugs they're everywhere in the whistling frogs are very loud that you can't sleep. There are many chickens on the resort, so prepared to be woken up by roosters.

We love Grotto Bay! We’ve been there seven (or eight?) times and fully intend to return!!! The staff is amazing (Wilfredo & Duane, especially) and just love how friendly everyone is. Definitely give this place a try!!

The resort was a perfect relaxing trip for my family. All the staff were friendly, very pleasant and helpful. We loved the beach, the water sports, and the Cathedral cave was a unique and very nice part of the resort. I recommend the All inclusive option. It was really convenient and included bus and ferry passes for the island. The beds were very comfortable too.

Room looked like a motel room pool was cloudy and they advertised a seimup bar but it was a pool w stools in it that uou had to get your own drinks very unimpressed lost my $$$$ had to go to another hotel

We loved our girls weekend here! The beach is so clean and the water is beautiful. Everything was easy access- from the bar, restaurants, and the Cathedral Cave right on the way to the pool. The staff were beyond kind and helpful, and we were just a short walk from Twizzy rentals and the iconic Swizzle Inn. Highly recommend!

This is a great place to stay and amazing location. Staff is helpful in general and the food was great. The only improvement I'd recommend is that the buildings are pretty old so are ACs. Loud AC was not fun to have during the noght but other than that everything was perfectly fine.

Room was clean and had beautiful views of the bay. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good buffet breakfast. Well maintained grounds.

I really enjoyed my stay there. A very friendly relaxed vibe for sure. I would recommend getting the all-inclusive package because the food was excellent and it included bus and ferry passes as well.

This was our 2nd time at Grotto Bay of our 8 times visiting Bermuda. It’s on the top of our list now. We did the all-inclusive for 3 days of our 6 nights, which was perfect. Rented a small boat one day for 4 hours and it was a great decision. We’ll be back for sure!

Staff was very attentive to my mother who has trouble walking. They were quick and reliable every time she need a ride somewhere.

Conveniently located a few minutes from the airport, $12 Taxi ride. Bus/ferry pass will take you around the whole island.

the natura spa and cave experience was unique and a one of a kind experience. the property was clean and the staff friendly

The restaurant(s) were excellent.
