Reception staff were friendly and efficient, the room was nice and even had a bath. The building is beautiful and the location was super handy, with two tube stations on different lines nearby.

Room is too small; water temperature was inconsistent and would randomly get too hot or too cold without any turning of the knob; bed was uncomfortable; pillows too flat; construction made entry ways very inconvenient and confusing; air conditioning also didn’t work; there was no iron; and the air dryer was attached to a drawer so you cannot use it anywhere else in the room. We love London but would not stay here again!:(

Despite ongoing renovations, the staff were terrific and tried hard to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Manager Graziana was simply wonderful and so nice. One of her staff set up the new TV for me in my room without a qualm and got me ice, etc, as the restaurant and reception were temporarily closed. I’ve stayed there on multiple occasions but this time I have to say they all went above and beyond for me. I’ll be back!

The hotel is in an excellent area and this was a huge plus. Unfortunately the hotel itself is undergoing a massive renovation and our room was very old and dated and felt put together at the last moment. I have no doubts once the renovations are complete it will be a five star stay again!

We did not have breakfast the hotel is under refurbishment. There was an issue with the gas main in the street which sadly affected the hotel and was outside of their control. The air con was good. The room was comfortable. Once the hotel had been refurbished it will be lovely! It met our needs on Marathon weekend and the staff were very good!

This was a very disappointing stay due to the renovations that was taking place during the two days I was there and fire alarm mishap. I was advised when I arrived that the water would be turned off from 12:00 to 5:00PM both days due to renovations, rooms were not as viewed on website. Rooms were run down and dark. Restaurant closed due to renovation. Fire alarm went off and on during 2nd night for over an hour due to malfunction that was not fixable until maintenance arrived. All guests were told that they would get a refund for that night but when I pursued my refund they would not honor or grant my refund. Only one elevator operating and no safe exit if it was a true fire as stairwell blocked off due to construction. One positive note staff were friendly and were accommodating when I requested to check in early.

The hotel, where I have stayed many times before, is under renovation and should not try to stay partially open during renovations!! All they are doing is alienating customers who will very likely not go back. My opinion!!

Hotel was under renovation and I was not informed when I booked my stay. Could not take shower because there was no hot water. Next day in the morning we received a letter informing us there no hot water and we should contact our agency to make other arrangements. Fortunately I was able to book my other 2 nights in another hotel. They charged for the first night when they shouldn’t considering we were unable to take showers since was no hot water. I’ll dispute the charge.

Not worth your money, even as a budget hotel. The place is actively under restoration, covered with scaffolding and loud with construction activity all day long. Amenities like breakfast and the bar are unavailable due to the renovations and only one elevator is in operation. Our room had a dank, damp smell to it, with visible black mold in the bathroom. The toilet handle was loose and we weren’t given any soap in the bathroom and had to use the shower gel to wash our hands. We only booked it for its proximity to Paddington, but it was still a fifteen minute walk away. No real redeeming qualities or reasons to return.

Hotel is having maintenance carried out so arguably shouldn't be open. No water in the afternoon, fire alarm activation in error at midnight (repeated 4 or 5 times before 1:00a.m.) and a wrongly allocated room at Check-In which meant I walked in on a woman made it a disappointing experience. Thankfully it was only one night.

The location of this hotel is perfect. The hotel is currently under renovation, which had some inconveniences, however it was the other issues that affected our stay. The shower in our room never functioned properly. I reported this four days in a row. We could not get warm water, it either had to be scalding hot or freezing cold. I asked repeatedly for this to be fixed and was assured daily that it had been, which was not true. The thermostat did not work at all. It was either cold in the room and if we turned the thermostat on, it would just blow heat constantly, it did not register the temperature. This also was never addressed, even though I asked and asked. The staff never once apologized for any of this.
