Reception staff were friendly and efficient, the room was nice and even had a bath. The building is beautiful and the location was super handy, with two tube stations on different lines nearby.

The location of this hotel is perfect. The hotel is currently under renovation, which had some inconveniences, however it was the other issues that affected our stay. The shower in our room never functioned properly. I reported this four days in a row. We could not get warm water, it either had to be scalding hot or freezing cold. I asked repeatedly for this to be fixed and was assured daily that it had been, which was not true. The thermostat did not work at all. It was either cold in the room and if we turned the thermostat on, it would just blow heat constantly, it did not register the temperature. This also was never addressed, even though I asked and asked. The staff never once apologized for any of this.

Lovely area, room clean but getting a bit worn. Currently renovating part of the hotel so no restaurant and not even a public toilet at present. There is a coffee machine near reception but not good quality or quantity. However lovely area beside Kensington Gardens and short walk to restaurants and cafes.

This hotel is in a great location which is why we chose ti return to the property. This time it was undergoing a complete renovation and should not have remained open. It looked ugly inside and out, but the biggest problem was that we had no hot water. After seeing multiple rooms with the same problem, we essentially gave up trying snd had to endure it for the 4 days we were there. Our daughter, who was supposed ti be staying with us, left the hotel ti stay with friends, which meant we couldn’t spend any time with her. We were aggressively told to pay for coffee in the lobby, which we assumed was complimentary given the appalling condition of the place. We will not return.

I want to share my honest experience with this stay and with Expedia’s support. Right after booking, I received an email saying the hotel was under renovation and that I had only four hours to cancel. Since I booked just one day before my trip, I immediately contacted Expedia support to cancel. However, until the day I arrived, Expedia kept telling me the hotel refused the cancellation. When I arrived, the hotel staff said no one from Expedia had actually contacted them, which shows there was a serious miscommunication. I contacted Expedia support three or four times and spoke with different agents. Each time I had to explain everything again from the beginning. I’ve used Expedia for years, but this time the support was very disappointing. The hotel itself was under renovation and nearby buildings were also under construction, so there was constant noise. The room was extremely small, almost like a closet, with a tiny window. Even after reaching your floor, you still have to go up and down several small staircases, which makes moving luggage very difficult. There was also no phone in the room to contact reception, so you must go downstairs if you need help. Overall, the lack of transparency about renovations and how this situation was handled made the experience very disappointing. I hope this case is reviewed properly and handled fairly.

The room was certainly adequate. It was smaller, but met our needs. The walls were very thin and we could hear the people next to us talking, but maybe that’s how it goes with these older hotels. It’s a about a 10 minute walk to Paddington in five minutes to Hyde Park.

The hotel is currently under construction so all amenities are inaccessible such as the bar, breakfast, and coffee station. The construction wasn’t too bothersome noise wise. Aside from the construction, the room itself was lovely and we had a comfortable stay. The location is also great. Just a few streets west is a great neighborhood with lots of shops, cafes, and grocery stores. We particularly loved how close we were to Hyde Park. Would stay again!

We lived in this hotel for five nights in mid Feb 2026. The triple bed room that we lived was spacious & big enough to accommodate our luggage. Beds & toilet are clean. The room already refurbished & equipped with a quiet cold & warm air conditioner. We can sleep in a quiet environment. But there’s no hot water supply in shower or face washing basin in first night. Reception staff are very helpful to arrange us to have shower in another room before they fixed the hot water supply problem next day. Location of this hotel is very good. A bus stop with bus lanes going to different tourist attractions such as Buckingham Palace. Three tube stations in short walkable distance. Lots of cafe or restaurants nearby. Although there’s still some renovation work going on in some part of the hotel, it’s still valuable to live here with such price.

Stayed for 3 nights (Feb 13th - Feb 16th) Advised of refurbishment work following booking. Entrance was now into a make shift reception area that fronted the breakfast bar. Advised reception following first night that tv in room 404 wasn't working (no signal). Still not working when we left on 16th Feb. Room was cleaned as expected following first and second night but left untouched on third day. My impression is that the hotel is being run on a shoestring until the refurbishment is completed. Will return following completion of refurbishment.

The hotel is under renovation. We moved three times before we were given a room with hot water. The staff reluctantly gave us an upgrade, after we prepared to leave the hotel. At first they claimed thay had written to us explanning the situation. Although we were given a complimentary breakfast vouchure, it was the poorest buffet table we have ever seen, and certainly not worth the UKP 22.00 they were charging. We knew things were amiss when the staff could not direct us to the hotel. Please do not send anyone to this place. There was no telephone in the room. Lastly, there were steps before and after the elevator, making if difficult to move our luggage, while one elevator was not working.
