Fantastic hotel in a great location. The reception area and room were very cool, considering it was one of the hottest days of the year. The staff were very freindly and provided extra tea and coffee for the room when we asked. The room was showing signs of wear and taer, but I believe they are currently refurbishing. This didn't detract in anyway from the comfort and cleanliness of the room. Despite being very close to Hyde Park, the room was very quiet at night. I would recommend and I would happily stay here again.

Very old fashioned no modern hotel facilities and very cramped double room. For the price I would not stay here again but the location was convenient for Mayfair.

overall good stay in a good location (close to queensway and bayswater). aircon was slow to cool down however did the job. staff were helpful esp when our toilet stopped working and we were offered another room to use the bathroom. overall clean room with sufficient space for medium sized luggage. also close to Santander cycle stand. not as close to laundry though - do not recommend lancaster deli laundry service (dryer took so long for clothes).

Currently the place is being extended and under lots of scaffolding. Expect to see workmen and deliveries. I thought check-in was slow but the lifts beat that by running in a very leisurely manner. You could use the stairs if they were easy to navigate. In case of a fire, I suggest smashing a window and jumping! The room itself was clean and relatively spacious for a London hotel. But the TV didn't receive any channels and the staff couldn't fix it. I heard complaints about the air conditioning although the one in our room worked. On the plus side, the location is great and not too far from a tube station.

Pros: wonderful location, AC worked great, room was a good size, staff was very friendly, and the construction noise did not interfere while sleeping. Cons: the room and bathroom were very outdated and smelled of stale cigarettes, the beds were extremely firm, and they did not provide washcloths. Small shampoo and conditioner were provided but no hand soap for the sink.
