Lancaster Gate Hotel

Spacious room in a nice location

Whenever we stay in London we choose The Lancaster Gate Hotel. The rooms are traditionally decorated and although perhaps not the most modern or contemporary, they are always spotlessly clean. Check in was gast and efficient with friendly staff as always. I couldnt work out how to turm the heating on and asked at the reception - someone came immediaty and showed me how to do it and was so friendly. If I could make any improvement to put stay, a couple.of biscuits on the tea tray would have been nice, and the bed was a little too firm, however overall, another good stay here at The Lancaster Gate. The location is brilliant with Hyde Park and the underground station just a few minutes walk away.

The neighbourhood is GREAT (quiet, near multiple Underground lines, walkable to Notting Hill, across from Hyde park) Appreciated the housekeeping and luggage storage The room was ok, though it smelled musty and we often heard muffled taking from the neighbouring rooms. I can sleep with ear plugs but my kid couldn’t is he had trouble falling asleep. Breakfast was tasty but expensive

Staff were very helpful! Breakfast fabulous. Room very good.

Stains on carpet. Toilet flushing was an issue. Beds were too stiff. We both had back aches every morning. Location was very good and the price was fair.

It would have helped to have international electric plugs

Friendly helpful staff, clean comfortable room. I have walking issues. The first stay, the staff found me a room without stairs, downstairs, access by elevator. My second stay was on the ground level floor in a larger room. The room was showing its age but was comfortable. The breakfast is buffet style, lots of choice and like all hotels, very expensive. There are pubs and a good Italian restaurant within walking distance. I would probably stay again. Thank you to the staff.

The rooms need redecorating and the taps were either freezing cold or burning hot. The rooms were cold and the heating was so noisy it kept me awake. You get what you pay for.

Excellent venue in London with great service.

Clean and comfortable, excellent staff. Very close to local Metro and buses. Easy to get to shopping areas.

Large room compare with another's Hotels. Big Bathroom and air conditioning. Clean room everyday. Train and bus transportation near by.

This is an older hotel - classic style. The front desk staff were lovely, very helpful and efficient. The public areas were nice. I did not have breakfast there but there is a big breakfast room and a bar. There is no food other than breakfast (even though the TV in the room has a room service menu). The room was an acceptable size for the price, the decor a little dated, the bathroom has an actual bath and plenty of hot water. I was provided with an iron and board on request. The bed was comfy, the linen clean and new. The curtains provide an excellent blackout at night. The only complaint is that the walls are thin with no soundproofing so you can very easily hear other guests in the next rooms. The hotel doesn't seem to attract rowdy guests but the sound does travel. The area is quite safe, a couple of nice restaurants and a pub just near by. The underground was a bit of a hike though.

The shower was cold and the valve did not allow water to come out the shower head, only the handheld shower head. We told staff on check out but all they said was sorry! We had to get to an event, so couldn't deal with in the moment. There was limited sound proofing, as we could hear the conversation of the person in the room next door. It was quite clean, although the space was basic and in need of refurbishment.

Toilet was hard to flush and lights didn’t work properly

Unfortunately no small fridge in room nor extra sheet for bed (duvet was only option).

The location was great, right next to Hyde Park, and several restaurants and stores were a short walk away. Staff was also helpful and friendly.
