Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel

I was more than happy with my stay. The room was large, clean and nicely decorated. The beds were very comfortable. It had everything that we needed for our one night stay. The receptionist was helpful, polite and accommodating. The location was perfect. I would definitely stay here again.

I booked before reading the reviews and in my 2-night experience it was no way as bad as the reviews would make you believe. I was dreading my stay but its a great location, good value for money, not too noisy, rooms were clean and modern and staff were friendly. My only grumble is that both lifts were out of action.

Any hotel that gives you 4 tea bags and milks, plus extra if you ask, gets my vote!!

Bit shabby but acceptable.

Stayed here a few times- definitely deteriorated. Shabby room Stained carpet Dirty shower cubicle Mould on seals No hot water ( boiler issues which weren’t mentioned when we checked in) Thin shabby towels No teabags or milk

Firstly: Very friendly and helpful staff.. nice welcome at reception and bar had a pleasant server. Rooms were a reasonable size for an overnight stay and mostly clean, though we did find some property of a previous inhabitant which may allude to a slightly less than thorough clean. Great location and price. Car parking is in the next building and though expensive, it was very reasonable for the area and compared to other car parks nearby. Would recommend.

Not sure what any negative reviews are about - we had a lovely 2 nights. Absolutely no issues, lovely AC’d room, comfy bed, great location and great price considering. Would absolutely recommend.

I had a wonderful stay at the Grand Bristol. As a first time traveller to Europe, having stayed in busy London hotels, I was quite impressed by the relative size of the room. All of the different staff from booking, through check in and check out were so warm and hospitable. I would definitely stay here again. Further, the building was immaculately maintained for a rustic (intentionally rustic) spot. The caretakers of this property known exactly what they are doing and are maintaining this spot as it should be. Thank you! Absolute gem of a hotel, strongly recommend.

The car park is tight and my defender would not fit... this was not apparent until i had passed through the barrier...hotel reception guy was very helpful though. One elevator was not functioning meaning the other was very slow and often full. The hotel is used by foreign coach trippers. The buffet breakfast service was terrible really, few clean tables, find your own seat and cuttlery. Tables did not seem to be cleaned between uses. The coffee machines were not working properly either, with queues for a cuppa. Fruit juices were not refilled. The jam dispenser is not easy to use and is very messy... why not just have the little packs or jars? The same goes for the yoghurt selection.

First of all when arriving late, the manager insisted I hadn’t paid. I should’ve waited for my hotels app to load but he insisted. payment went through. But they couldn’t refund me because the system had an old card. - which proved payment had gone through months ago. I was told in the morning I would have to rectify this by emailing another manager myself. Besides that the shower leaked all over the floor, no matter how I tried to position the curtain, the bed seem to be made of just bedsprings and the carpet was dirty. All in all a very disappointing stay

Anything but grand. Room was tired and dated. Carpet was stained and worn down. Toilet seat kept coming off and shower curtain was ripped and dirty. Definitely wouldnt stay here again.

Having asked for the room to be cleaned, the beds were left unmade, the teabags were not replaced, the towels were unnecessarily changed and a face flannel not belonging to the hotel was removed.

Exceptional stuff. Great rooms, comfy bed, a lovely time all round and so well located.

Great hotel in an excellent location. House keeping staff were super helpful :) We had a family room for 3 adults, main bed was very comfortable the sofa bed wasn’t great, probably ok for kids though! Apart from that we had a really brilliant stay!

Lovely hotel, walkable to the city centre. Nice bar/restaurant, good choice of food and drinks. Spacious room, staff very helpful.
