Hotel is in an excellent location.It is surrounded by restaurants and cafes and it is within an easy 5 min walk of the hippodrome theatre. A decent size secure carpark is across a small, quiet road from the hotel. The room was large and clean. The breakfast was good- plenty of choice and easy to find a table. Staff were pleasant and helpful. It is a large hotel but only has 2 lifts which state they hold 8 but were full with 5 in. It was a very busy weekend as the Bristol half marathon was on the Sunday but only one of the lifts were working so there were always long waits for the lift. We were on the 3rd floor and due to the hotel’s location could hear music and people until after midnight. The noise wasn’t particularly loud but I could see some guests having an issue with it.

Good location, simple enough to check in and room was a nice size. Just looked tired in places and we noticed bottles or rubbish left outside people’s rooms remained there across the two days of our stay.

Decor old and run down in places, dated and in need of refurbishment. Booked a double room and got the smallest room I can remember by UK standards. Double bed was pushed up against the wall so you could only get in from one side (it was really a single size room with a double bed squashed in!). Breakfast however was good. Overall, as a one night stay for a theatre visit to Bristol, the hotel met our requirements, with a good location, but did not meet our expectations. Car park is right next door, very convenient (£19 for 24 hours) but, as like many other reviews I’ve read, is terribly small with narrower than usual ramps - if you a larger than average car then park elsewhere.

Great location and great price. Perfect for me when I stay as it is near my office.

Stayed for an awards evening as we were sponsoring the event. Credit where it’s due—the event itself was well run and organised. Unfortunately, the hotel completely let it down. The room was genuinely one of the worst I’ve stayed in. The bathroom was in a poor state: mould present, rusty taps and fittings, enamel missing from the bath, and a cracked mirror. The walls were dirty, the carpet was worn bare in places, and even the bins looked battered and unclean. The issues weren’t limited to the room. Public toilets were in similarly poor condition, with wobbly taps and broken door handles, and the lift was out of order. On top of that, it was noisy at night, making it hard to get a decent sleep. To add to the frustration, the shower curtain clung to you while showering, and the bath handle had been fixed to the wall in a way that made it unusable. On a positive note, the air conditioning worked well and the bed was comfortable—but unfortunately, that’s about where the positives end.

Stayed for one night , was ideal close to shopping and bars. The hotels bed itself was ok but the pillows were paper thin and the bed was on wheels so you could feel yourself moving whilst leaning against the headboard but apart from this we had a peasant stay

Great big room. Fabulous for a single traveller

Handily-located with its own co-located car park, the hotel was a perfect place to stay for a midweek visit to the city. The hotel has evidently had a modern interior makeover at some point and features interesting contemporary décor throughout. Our comfortable twin room had everything we needed for a short stay and at a decent price. Whilst English staples are available, the in-house restaurant majors on Indian cuisine and our butter chicken was delicious. Car parking for guests is £19 for 24 hours at time of writing and this was a very handy amenity as it allowed us to leave the car safely stashed away after checking out whilst we visited the University during the day. Friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere helped make this a great stay.

Poor cleaning standards with toothpaste marks all over the bathroom sink Bath plug not working. Having said that, the team polite and friendly.

Clean hotel, great location . Lift was out of order on the date of stay which was disappointing with two kids on the third floor .

Nice Hotel in excellent central location with on site parking. Property is a little tired and our window would not fully close. Staff were frendly. Breakfast was good with a choice eggs cooked to order should you with. Bar did shut a little early

Very clean hotel in a lovely location, however the noise just after arrival from the function room on the same floor was off the scale, we stayed for 2 nights and on Easter Sunday we were woken at 8.40am with the same noise from the function rooms I believe a wedding was on. I emailed reception but as yet still not had an answer as to why the volume needed to be so loud the room was vibrating so that along with the £38 car park charge has left us not wanting to come back ever again.

Elevator was broken. Old broken down furniture. Black mold in the bathroom. All around horrible property.

The hotel location was great the staff nice and the price fair. However when we stayed Easter weekend there was a celebration thing on. The sound check started just after 8am on the Sunday, it sounded like a full brass band accompanied by drums. Surely those not staying for this event could have been housed further from the noise. It was extremely loud and very disappointing. We got up dressed and left. I’ve never written a negative review before but the noise was something else it was happening right next next to our room.

The area had shops near by The elevator in the hotel did not work nor was it repaired whilst we were there The room was okay but had limited furniture no place to put clothes. Etc.

Nobody available for check in and long queue. Reception area seating very tired and could do with an update.
