The hotel looks amazing from the outside with a unique design. We were lucky to get a room upgrade, and we absolutely loved the room. It was very spacious, beautiful, and comfortable. Plus, it was the only hotel on our UK trip with AC, which made a big difference! We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay in York.

Room was a perfect temperature, nice towels and bedding. The tv was well positioned and the water was hot at all times Breakfast was good but some foods could have been a little warmer but that’s often the challenge for buffet service. The range and availability was great though. The lounge and bar are was very well run by professional and friendly staff who definitely know how to deliver great customer service. Drinks and food were all up to the required standard. The reception team were also very helpful and friendly providing good information and a smooth experience

Arrived to find the spa and pool had been closed for maintenance. Awaiting refund for this. No WiFi in room, and the bathroom had scuff marks, paint missing, and the toilet area was so small, when sat, the holder was squashed into your arm. and your legs were against the sink! Not what you expect for nearly £200 night stay. Hotel itself was lovely, but room was dreadful.

We were disappointed with the standard of the rooms at the Milner which are not adequate for the high price they charge. We'd booked a two night stay for £365 which is a lot of money for us. We had to change rooms twice over the course of a 2 night stay which felt awkward and disruptive. The first room we were given was dark, overlooked a road and didn't have basic facilities like chairs/adequate tea facilities (they were in a cupboard with no logical place to set up the kettle) the room also smelled overwhelmingly of mildew so we asked for it to be looked into. The staff were great and said that maintenance needed to deal with it so they would move us to an alternative room. However the room they moved us to was an accessible room which we specifically did not want - they said they had nothing else available that night but would move us again the next day. The room was not functional for us due to it's accessible features - the sink was too low down and narrow, the shower was awkward to use with the accessibility features and meant we couldn't go back in after using the shower because the floor was completely wet. There was also no bedside table on one side and instead the side of the bed was right up against a cupboard. Also a substantial gap under the door which did compromised privacy. Again the tea facilities and seats were lacking. On the final day we were moved to a room upstairs which was marginally better although the decor was stained and dated.

The breakfast was poor, first morning no porridge which is inexcusable as its a dry product with good bbdate, the staff service was very good vut they never smiled or showed warmth.the English breakfast was very poor, bacon tough eggs hard and sausage hard and overdone. Room was very clean, but not given introduction to facilities hence never found safe or fridge until we were leaving. And they would have been very useful for our stay.Had a dog barking in the next bedroom during the night, which is not good. Was not asked once how we were or if we enjoyed our stay,as if it was unnecessary. Staff in peaches bar very helpful. Reception 50/50 sometimes very helpful other times not at all.pity.very hectic with all the road repairs around the hotel, not made aware of.The breakfast was certainly not worth the money.
