The hotel looks amazing from the outside with a unique design. We were lucky to get a room upgrade, and we absolutely loved the room. It was very spacious, beautiful, and comfortable. Plus, it was the only hotel on our UK trip with AC, which made a big difference! We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay in York.

If travelling by train location is, of course, excellent. The building is old but that is part of its charm and it is well maintained. Very spacious and quite impressive.

We’d planned this special trip for a while and so were very disappointed to see the spa closed during our stay and we were given quite a ‘tired’ room down in the basement, which felt isolated from the main hotel. Overall a very underwhelming visit.

A decent sized twin room, nice shower. Not far from city centre and ideal if arriving by train as it's next to the railway station. Disappointed that the swimming pool wasn't open.

The room was clean if not a little dated. The downstairs areas are lovely to sit a chill but was upset to learn the pool facilities were not open and we had not been informed even though they did manage to email us about upgrades they failed to email about the pool.
