Lovely location - next to the train station but easily walkable into the city centre. Clean rooms, lovely staff. Parking can be a bit tricky if you get there later in the day. Would stay here again for sure!

Walking straight off the platform into the hotel. A beautiful interior, gorgeous staircase and discrete but attentive staff. Spacious grounds, lots of parking and a short walk to city centre. Also very close to railway museum which is fabulous. I want to visit again!

The hotel looks amazing from the outside with a unique design. We were lucky to get a room upgrade, and we absolutely loved the room. It was very spacious, beautiful, and comfortable. Plus, it was the only hotel on our UK trip with AC, which made a big difference! We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay in York.

Hotel has easy access to the city centre and ideal location. The hotel was nice around the reception & hall area. We had a deluxe room, which was starting to get ready for a refurb. Windows were rotten in plalces and the shower trap had a bad smell when the water had drained. The bed was not comfy and i wouldnt have wanted to stay in that bed for a third night. The restaurante does not cater for vegetarians very well, and the breakfast was fairly basic. Dont get me wrong, we did enjoy our stay & will return again, it just needs some TLC to the rooms and mattresses & we will give a better rating.

Gave us keys to the incorrect room despite trying to resolve the problem earlier with one member of staff, the other member of staff resolved the issue quickly and professionally however the member of staff that made the error didn’t acknowledge us or the situation when we were 4 metres away in a quiet reception. The tvs are not smart which is a shame for a suite, two tvs also. The leisure centre (pool, sauna, steam room & hot tub) is small. The hotel itself is large and beautifully decorated but the rooms are plain.

Room was 2 fights higher than lift will go meaning we had to carry suitcases up 2 flights of stair. We were not advised of this on check in and my companion is awaiting one surgery. Room surfaces were covered in dust, old dry contact lens on bedside table and hairs on the bed. There is a wardrobe and full length mirror immediately on entering the room but no light so both are unusable. One light in the bathroom did not work. Th shower door opens into the shower so you have to squeeze into the corner of the cubicle between taps and shower holder in order to close the shower door. Terrible design and anyone overweight or pregnant would find this impossible. Air con wasn’t working and while this was resolved, it then started omitting a smell of drains which was revolting. Room hot but windows broken so cannot be opened. Have stayed before and had fantastic room but this was absolutely disgusting. We did complain but as they were fully booked they could not move us. Instead we were given two tins of mineral water which was basically an insult. They did send someone to clean but the chest of drawers was missed again. This is absolutely not what we had expected at The Milner and we were massively disappointed.

Had a great stay. The staff were friendly and the common areas very nice. The only downside would be the cleanliness of the areas outside of the common area. There were many stains on the hallway carpets and the chair in my room was covered in all sorts of food and beverage stains. A luggage rack would be convenient as well.

Not great overall. Room seemed to be one of the worst in the whole hotel and unhelpful staff due to a function. More focus on the drunk function guests than the paying ones Room on 5th floor not served by a lift, very loud wedding music from the ground floor all night, luke warm water (told we should run it for 15 minutes first). Not able to have a meal except for soup due to a function. Overall, I will not be returning which is a pity as it’s a lovely hotel.

The room was lovely overlooking the garden. I'd ordered a fruit platter, and it was delivered to the room with a great range of fruits. A clean well appointed room supplied with a variety of teas/coffees, biscuits with a kettle and waters in the fridge. Very friendly helpful staff who supplied us with more decaf drinks as needed and help as required. We enjoyed our evening meals in Peacheys restaurant which has a large choice of meals. The hotel being next to the station, makes it an ideal place for your holiday. It is also only a few minutes walk from the centre of York and all museums, parks and shops.
