The hotel looks amazing from the outside with a unique design. We were lucky to get a room upgrade, and we absolutely loved the room. It was very spacious, beautiful, and comfortable. Plus, it was the only hotel on our UK trip with AC, which made a big difference! We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay in York.

The reception area was as nice as always and very welcoming and well maintained. The room was quite small and wasn’t as clean as could be the table was sticky and we found items under the bed. The pool area and changing rooms needs some money spending on it as the showers were not working or kit, the lockers were not working, the swimsuit machine was not working. Phones in room were not working. There are just a number of areas to address and for the charge of the stay it should be better maintained.

Beautiful hotel, Good location as next door to the train station. Reception staff were very helpful and had good customer service skills. Restaurant food was good although there were very few staff on and this lessened the looked after feeling. Breakfast was good. Pool was lovely but we went about 4pm and the changing rooms were wet everywhere from use. - we were possibly just unlucky that people before us were not considerate. £22 per 24hr extra to park at the hotel. When you pay £200+ a night I would have liked that included. Would I stay again? No,

Absolutely terrible experience. We paid nearly $700 for 2 nights and this hotel was nowhere near worth the price. The lift/elevator wasn’t working, which made getting luggage up and down extremely frustrating. The AC in the room barely worked, leaving the room hot and uncomfortable the entire stay. The mattress was one of the worst I’ve ever slept on — extremely springy, worn out, and incredibly uncomfortable. On top of that, the hotel itself felt very old, dirty, and poorly maintained. There were visible stains on chairs and furniture, which made the whole place feel unhygienic. For the amount of money charged, I expected at least a clean, comfortable, and functional hotel. This place was a huge disappointment and I would definitely not stay here again.

We stayed in the Hudson Suite (room 101). it was stunning. Beautiful view of garden and York Minster. Room was massive with high ceilings. Gorgeous marble bath with separate toilet room with sink. Hotel had covered access to train station behind the hotel so even though it was raining when we left, we stayed dry. Also, even with hotel so close to the station, we never heard a train. Easy walk to all sights and restaurants. We would definitely stay again when in York.

Nice historic train hotel that is conveniently located right by York Station and close to the Train Museum thay sadly we didn't get time to visit. Rooms were nice and the hotel had a good vibe and feel to it. Although outside the city walls, its location by the station with all the rapid connections from there to London, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Leeds, and Manchester should make the Milner a compelling choice for visitors to York.

Stunning communal spaces, stairs and bar. That staff are very courteous and helpful. You can even rent an umbrella. There is parking and it’s at the reduced rate of £22 if you pay at reception (£40 outside) Our room was a superior king but faced the station. BE AWARE that rear facing rooms get to hear the trains idle at the station for 15-30 mins at a time despite double glazing. A tip would be to master the air con before bedtime as it’s tricky to use (until you know how) and the rooms get quite warm without it.
